Hilarious that Indiana is being exposed by Nebraska, but a late hit on the QB after an INT should just be tacked onto field position.

Might be the dumbest rule in CFB

I’m sure you would feel the same if that was LSU

The only dumb thing was that it was called roughing the passer

True.

If the ball changes possession, the other team shouldn't get the ball.

You can still tack the yards onto the return.

Targeting and roughing the passer being automatic first down 15 year penalties needs to be abolished from the sport.

Make the player sit for a certain amount of time if it’s a legit penalty. Don’t change the entire flow of the game for it though.

Also true it was a weak call.

But if you throw a pick because of a “late hit”, then it wasn’t a late hit.

If the late hit doesn’t cause the pick, then it shouldn’t affect possession & should only affect field position.

It’s a dumb rule period.

The penalty happened before the ball was turned over, so you are wrong.

You certainly have an opinion there.

I didn’t say the rule was applied incorrectly.

No different than the qb throwing the ball deep for a free play after an offsides flag. INT doesnt matter

It’s incredibly different. Offsides happens before the play begins.

By definition a late hit occurs after the QB throws the ball.

It’s a live ball penalty. It is applied prior to the change of position. There is no other way to do it unless you tried to determine what penalties affect the outcome of the play and which ones don’t and that would be a disaster to even attempt.

Not how opinions work.

You’re still salty because you got fricking owned by the whole board in the legal thread. That was objectively wrong.

It's not a subjective or random reason why the penalty is applied the way it is. Your opinion is wrong. People can have the opinion the earth is flat, but they are also wrong.

And you are wrong in the legal thread because you keep trying to claim the SEC is equal to the NCAA simply because a monopoly isn't a requirement and then treat it like it's not a factor at all - when one of the main points for the NCAA was that it was a monopoly. You demand all discussion assumes that is fact, laughed about any attempts to have discussion beyond that and pretty much made it completely worthless to continue.

Roughing the passer also includes hitting him above the neck and below the knees, both of which can happen while he's throwing. In other words it can affect the interception. The best thing is to just not rough the passer, but bad calls are another thing.

That’s not an opinion. That’s a declarative assertion intended to describe reality, as science normally does… that is demonstrably false.

An opinion is “people who think the earth is flat are stupid”. Or “that was a bad movie”.

Aside from being word salad, you’re wrong about everything from your description of the conversation to your understanding of relevant past court rulings.

The NCAA was not barred from limiting the transfer portal because it was a monopoly. The NCAA is not even a for-profit org.

Ohio v NCAA. I cited the case, you’re just too lazy to read up and too stubborn to admit you’re objectively wrong on your understanding of antitrust as it relates to CFB, the NCAA, and the NCAA’s conferences.
