There are 2 spots open bud. This is far from over. Saban and CLK were game planning yesterday. Theres more to this than any of us realize.

He should sue them more, honestly
He should sue himself for being a dumbass all the way back to admitting Texas and Oklahoma and not getting a better handle on all of the NIL and Portal bullshite. It's ruined, has nothing to do with being a student athlete and everything to do with money. Fine, pay the players but a punter, quarterback and linebacker should all be paid the same and all teams are limited to the same amount. I don't care what that amount is but all teams pay the same. Different divisions can come up with that number. That's the only way we have any semblance of what it used to be. Doesn't change the cheating but we've dealing with cheaters forever.

Serious answer:

The federal suit won’t be dropped unless the Louisiana suit is dismissed (at least as to the SEC), but I would imagine that the SEC won’t press for a hearing this week. Maybe set a hearing for September 17 and see what happens. I’m sure Lane would prefer not to spend a day in Birmingham for a hearing when he has more important things to attend to.

Does this mean sankey will stop the lawsuit?

Probably not. Kiffin left two spots open and can add them during the season, I think.

I just can’t wait for us to have representation at that hearing next week showing proof we have rostered no players with pro ties …but there are six other SEC teams trotting out players with pro ties or who are straight up ineligible and they are playing them anyway.

Being on a roster does not equal playing them. There are 105 roster spots. Not all 105 players will play. Sit back and watch. If one is played, then you have a leg to stand on.

The players were very aware of this when they signed.

LSU should want the federal case to continue.

By not rostering the players, LSU has the risk of Wright and Harris seeking damages from LSU (since as of today they are eligible but not rostered) and/or trying to hold LSU in contempt.

If the SEC wins in federal court, that removes the liability from LSU since they would then be ineligible to be registered.

LSU is not a party to the suit in Baton Rouge. They are not risking contempt by not rostering the players. Unless Louisiana law is different from most other states, the players aren’t going to be able to sue LSU for damages. They might have claims on their NIL deals with whoever the contracting party is, but it won’t be the university or its officials.

They can still join the team later if they are enrolled in class. I doubt it's over.

I honestly hope the suit keeps going because LSU is going to eat that case alive.
