I’m guessing the only thing you’ve seen of his are his ratings, which make non-listeners lose their minds because they don’t get the show.

He is literally a word salad where each fanbase can hear something nice about their team.
When Pate is called out for his fence riding, he turns into a bitch.
The natural fan reaction to Pate:
1) this is good. He is likable.
2) this is redundant. And he isn't really saying anything.
3) he can't handle people calling him out on his schtick. He is kind of a bitch.
#4 is for me only. I intentionally avoid Pate because he comes on my feed a lot. But I go back to see his pregame predictions after the game is over. That entertains me because his ball knowledge is about what you would expect from an average fan. He isn't special. He isn't anything other than average.

Untrue. He has an entire segment dedicated to shitting on the worst performances of the week. Also regularly calls out coaching staffs. I agree, he tries pretty hard to be positive, but he will call it like it is when needed.

This is a social media fabrication. His “fence riding” is part of the schtick, and he doesn’t do it nearly as much as alleged. He has an entire segment, complete with merch for sale, dedicated to betting on college football games. Hard to be a fence rider when you’re running The Ramen Noodle Express.

I stopped watching him a couple of years ago except for looking at his pregame cutups after the game.
If he has changed, then he has changed.
I know what his show was.
I know how weak the content and opinions were. I know how weak his post game reactions were (the computer got it right. Or I got it right. If you remember in my 1 hour podcast I said that something different could happen 1 time).
He is a weather man who watches college football.
If you are expecting anything more, then you get what you pay for.
If he has changed, then he has changed.

One of my favorite sound bites of Pate’s entire show was when he had Brandon Walker on before the season, and Brandon said “I don’t think Meemaw really said all those things.”

It is because he is entertaining and puts on a good show, is actually fairly good when discussing things after games happened and breaking down what happened and why, he doesnt charge for his show so its free to watch, in the offseason he actually puts in effort to make good content and not just random offseason slop for example he goes around and interviews coaches from 30 school for about an hour each. That is interesting. He is usually on the side of what fans want for CFB and not what the satanic corpos at Disney want for it..
These reasons and more are why his show is popular, and popularity means reach which gives him access and it becomes a sort of self fulfilling prophecy.
I have my nit picks and issues with pate sometimes but its not a mystery why his show is popular and to be frank its better than most CFB shows out there especially the utter garbage ESPN has been brought so low to producing

The worst part about WilliamTaylor21's presence here is how he used to try to share all his personal life information with the board.

Josh Pate had a hot take. Stated that Florida was on par with 2019 LSU. The next week, Florida got pistol whipped by Mizzou. Game wasn’t close. Late has no credibility as far as I’m concerned.
