Never had a committable offer? WTF does that mean? “Hey, we’ll offer you a scholarship, but we don’t really want you so nevermind.” Shouldn’t all offers be committable? Otherwise what the point of offering. An offer is like a pregnancy. You either offer or you don’t.

You really think Saban would take a commitment from some of the trash that Bama offers?

Lol. Have you seen the linebacker haul LSU pulled in this cycle? Obviously not. Elite to say the least.

That kind of talent u don't let walk by without at least trying

I doubt Bama would take a chance after getting burned so badly by Anoma and Alfano. I'd like to think were done taking chances on headcases. At least for a season or two.

If Plan Z means landing someone as talented as McGlothern, LSU must regularly have Top 15 recruiting classes.

So A&M doesn't regularly have top 15 classes? Interesting

I'm glad LSU turned down both Evans and Achane. Potentially seeing them in the same backfield is

Then why offer? That’s my point.

A guy asks 10 girls to go out on a date. One of them says “Ok let’s do it.” Then the guy says “Nah. I’m good” and walks away. What was the point in asking her in the first place?

Because if all of your people above them say no to you, then you would be able to accept them. Hard to get somebody if you wait and offer late. It’s a game.

Not new at all. It’s just a retarded concept. I understand that coaches put more offers out than they have schollies just because no one gets EVERYONE they want, but once a kid commits, that should be end of story. The coach shouldn’t come back and be like “yeah I know we offered you and all, but nevermind.” The only exception is if all spots are already taken

That is a 2-way street as I see it. What about the player who is committed to a university for a year and flips at the last moment and leaves the university high and dry. Too me frick it if a college has a shot at a 5* player or a player who may be a better fit sign him after you help place another kid to another college on your commitment roster.
It's a big business these days need to treat as such. Get the very best players you can every year. Sometimes colleges need to purge their commitment roster before LOI.

Kids decommit all the time as well, though. It’s not “end of story” for anyone until the NLI is in. And that’s by design.. it protects both sides. It allows kids to capitalize on their senior year performance and gives them a way out of any boneheaded decisions they make early. It allows coaches to take a “wait and see” approach with development, grades, off the field issues, etc.

An “offer” has really just been a statement of interest for a long time. It is what it is.

would be fitting if A&M decided he isn't worth the headache & left this kid in the cold.
