That makes two straight years they’ve gotten the number 1 QB in the country

Spencer Rattler and now Vandergriff

How did the SEC let this guy go to OU?

How did the school that’s had two Heisman winning QBs in a row land a 5* QB?

BIG XII has the best QBs in the nation every year and the NFL will be shopping this league for it's QBs for the foreseeable future as they move to more modern offenses. Brock made an excellent choice for his future. Smart kid.

Couple of things

#1) How is 2019 and 2021 straight years?

#2) He’s not the #1 QB in 2021. Sam Huard is.

If you are a QB, why would you not go to OU with their track record. I hope he ends up @ Georgia but I completely understand why he would go to OU.

How is UGA so awesome at recruiting all positions except for instate QBs?!?!

0-3 on Deshaun, Trevor, and Brock is a monstrous failure.

Damn UGA, y’all missed another home grown one. To be fair, no better QB whisperer than Riley at OU.

There is a UGA QB posted somewhere on this list

1. Fields and Fromm were pretty highly ranked in state QBs in their respective years
2. Counting Brock to OU two years early is quite the stretch
3. You can blame Mark Richt directly for losing out in Lawrence and Watson. The Watson story is pretty common knowledge but Richt blew the Lawrence recruitment so bad that even with a down Tennessee Kirby couldn’t unfrick the damage; in both cases, Richt all but invited Clemson to have them both

This kid lives 15 minutes from Athens. He knows what a dumpster fire last season was for UGA to end the year. Not only is he the number one qb on rivals, he is the number one overall player as well. UGA has no hope of landing him and he is locked in for two years till he gets to OU. No big name qb will ever decomitt from OU

I think they were going off of Rivals. He is the top overall player from Rivals for class of 21, but you are right. Sam is number 1 in the 247 Comp.

He isn't even the #1 QB on UGA's board for 2021. Congrats on the pickup but holy shite dude... it's a little early to be counting these chickens...

Bookmarked for posterity.

Guess we’ll settle for having the #1 overall draft pick/Heisman winner 2 (and maybe soon 3) years in a row.

It seems the staff likes Caleb Williams better. We're in great shape for the #1 QB in 2022, Gunner Stockton. And I think our staff likes both of them better than Vandagriff.

I think he's a good QB, but he might be overrated as the #1 overall prospect. Time will tell.
