re: Have we really ruined the youth of America?

Here's an idea. Let kids flow to their talents and preferences.
I actually think the current youth are much better than the previous generation with regards to what they pursued. The “you have to go to college or else” message really impacted those who are currently in their 30s. Basically anyone with a pulse went to college, and half of them came out with degrees that weren’t worth the paper they were printed on.
However, the generation below that has bought much more into the idea of doing what you enjoy and what you’re good at. I’ve got some nephews and perhaps it’s anecdotal, but a ton of their friends didn’t get jobs and instead opened sandwich shops or became carpenters or welders or make all sorts of weird music or digital shite with their computers.
It’s actually one of the few things I think the younger generation needs credit for is that so many of them really seem to know what they want to be and are willing to focus on it, regardless of whether it fits the traditional career arc. Now whether it makes long term sense to pursue a career as some juggling unicycle rider on Tik Tok I don’t know, but they’re much better at identifying what they like and pursuing than previous generations.

Canned tuna should be illegal.
And I love Tuna.

I would just try to cut out all sugar as there's no real difference.
This is absolutely not true.
There’s a massive difference between the way your body processes the sugar from a slice of king cake vs the sugar from a banana or an orange. If you’re eating natural occurring foods with sugar and fiber, the impact on your blood sugar levels is dramatically reduced.

I don't believe half of what this internet group claimed they discovered. I think most of what they claim came to fruition after the crime was solved. I think they're pretty FOS. It sounded good and made a semi interesting story, but their story was unbelievable.
I wondered this as well. How much of it was pieced together and sorta confirmed after the fact vs how much did they piece together prior to the links?
Regardless they’re crazy obsessive and probably on the spectrum themselves.

Am I the only one who thinks the internet people are sorta scary? Granted, they’re nowhere even close to the Luka kid and not trying to discount his atrocity, and in this case they were using their obsessive efforts and skills for good, but people who are that freaky with the internet scare the fvck out of me.
When the one dude and Vegas gal walked the fvcking streets of Montreal via GoogleEarth looking for a damn set of steps, that’s when my jaw dropped. That kinda shite freaks me out. Would hate to get on their bad side for something.
They’d make crazy good detectives, though. Them piecing together the Casablanca stuff and the Manny alias from different movies was crazy impressive.

That timeout was stupid, especially if you aren't calling another on 3rd down. Don't call timeouts and they punt at 2 minutes and you still have 2. Call that one timeout and you saved, what, 7 seconds in the end?
fricking Payton time management.
This x100000000
You either use both and get the ball with about 2:30 and no TOs or you use neither and get the ball with 2:00 (call it 1:50 after the punt) with 2 TOs.
We get it it 1:50 with 1 TO.

Letting the clock run without calling the final timeout is impossibly stupid.
Legit just like about 30 seconds on fire.
fricking SP and his time management.

Not a chance in hell that ball crossed the goal line. It was in his right hand and his left shoulder barely even crossed, let alone his right side.
Terrible.

Such frickin bullshite that they always give them the TO in those situations.

Shouldn’t have made that terrible throw, but the one to Smith was a beauty. He has to make that frickin catch!

The changes in appearance are so gradual (assuming you aren't roiding up) that you probably will never look in the mirror and be wowed. However, you'll be able to look back at photos from 6, 12, or 24 months ago and notice a big difference.

Learn to love the process and focus on the process rather than the results. The results take time and will come, but if you focus on them it will drag you down because it is a grind.
These are the only two things you need from this thread.

re: Please recommend a good Xs and Os football book.

The 46 as a base defense is pretty outdated in the modern era, BUT this book does an incredible job of explaining a lot of the core concepts of defense that can be applied to any scheme. It’s also one of the better books at breaking down pattern reading, stunts for blitzing, and run fits.
I skim it every other year, really good.

Those were two of the most well-coached teams you’ll ever see in college football.
Truly an incredible job by both sides.
Day is no frickin joke.

Okudah is the best college corner I’ve ever seen. He legit looks like he’s running the routes for the receivers
