What State do they have to recruit to learn to win the last game of their season?
All these November National Champions must begetting old.
Maybe Alaska or Delaware has some finishers?

Maybe this should be asked about LSU as well. 2007 is starting to fade.

I'd prefer instate kids if they are more talented than the out of state kid at their position.

As has been explained AL doesn't have a huge pool of elite prospects this year or in most years.

Which instate recruits this year should replace an out of state recruit? List all the recruits in AL, compare them with Bama's list of commitments and tell me which instate recruit should Bama take over the oos recruit. If there is more than 3 uncommitted instate players better than the oos commits Bama has then I would be really surprised.

Have we not won 3 NCs since 2009?

When Shula was here 80% of our class would be in-state kids.

Those teams sucked.

Don't care.

Shhh don't tell them. We are really enjoying the 3* and 4* guys Bama and Auburn don't don't get. It's great, because the rivalry is so strong. If Bama doesn't take a kid who is a Bama fan, it doesn't matter if Auburn wants him, a lot of them would rather go out of state than play for the rival.

We get some pretty fine prospects as casualties of the cross fire.

More like Auburn is also recruiting at a Top 10 level and doesn't offer them either.

State is definitely benefiting most from the Auburn/Alabama uptick in recruiting. Kids in the 7-15 range in state that are borderline 4/3 star kids are going to State now instead of Alabama or Auburn like they did in the Shula/Tubs eras.

Not really all that true.

LB Darrell Williams grew up a Bama fan.
As did RB Roc Thomas.

In fact, the only one I can think of that fits this mold is Kwon Alexander.

Roc Thomas is a good example....staff was holding out for Fournette which was a pipe dream and here is great kid who was all Bama. In the old days we could have signed so AU wouldn't get him....we are pretty stacked at RB without LF and just signed this 5* kid from Kentucky.....but Thomas is an in-state kid who would have played hard for us.....and now we have to see him at Auburn.

I do admit in those situations it's better to take the in-state kid.

We also tried to get Jalen Harris, Tyler Carr, and Kerryon Johnson, but Auburn recruits at a high level, too. Can't get them all.

Bama may need more finishers, but LSU isn't getting any starters.

Does it bother Bama fans at all that Saban is getting so many guys from out of state, though?
According to 247 Composite in the class of 2014 Bama got the number 1 and/or 2 player from Alabama, Arkasas, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Iowa. That shite is insane....10 states and that doesn't include the #1 JUCO player in California.

Say what you want, but when your program pulls the top couple of players in 10 (TEN) different states there ain't much a fan needs to worry about.

Like I said, you are recruiting great.

I guess that using the word "worry" threw off a good number of people.

Whatever. I thought I was clear as to what I mean.

I should have said - so that Bama fans who were offended could understand - "What do you think about having 70% of your class come from out of state."

Then, the answer would have been - "We love it because we get the best players!" Which is understood and was not my question at all. I was trying to get to how you felt about not picking in state guys as much anymore.

I think it is a good discussion for college fans. We all want those top players from out of state, but I like it when the majority of LSU players are actually FROM Louisiana. It is more of what I love about college football.

I like to win, too. So, there's that.

If your team wants to be a national brand you can't worry about where the players come from. You just want players that can produce.

Has AL passed on an instate guy who was as good as one of the oos guys? I'd prefer if all things are equal then get the instate but between UA and Au there isn't enough instate guys to completely fill a class to where an oos guy isn't a better prospect.

Most of us actually did answer your question. "We love it because we get the best players," is a valid answer to your question. I honestly don't care where our players come from as long as we have one of the best teams.

A high percentage of the Bama's student enrollment are out of state enrollees as well....
