I still think he picks Bama. All of our mods are saying were still out front, and our insiders are saying he will sign with us. But Im a little nervous.

Kinda lessens the hit when you get Marshall out of NC and Theus out of Florida. In addition to the fact that we're in the mix with plenty of the home state boys.

Didnt strike out at all. Jonathan taylor, blake tibbs, james deloach, quayvon hicks, all are top players in the state. And as you mentioned we're still in it for jenkins and clemons. And jenkins is no way a bama lock. Its a uga-bama battle, but its VERY close. Lets just say kirby might have fricked this one up for bama (hence saban has taken over jenkins recruiting). In my own view id say its 50/50, but there are a few uga folks in harris county saying it is more like uga 75, bama 24, uf and auburn 1.

Also, jenkins announcement was apparently supposed to be on the 10th but the network bumped the show to the 9th, hence jenkins recruitment got moved up a day. Point being, has nothing to do with bama playing that night

Nah, and like i said i think its just dead even between bama and uga and who gets him gets him. But the folks saying this are pretty close to the jenkins family and the football program down there, so its not just blind homerism/optimism (though i think the percentages are exaggerating it a bit. If uga leads, no way its by that much)

I think UGA has a realistic shot, but I think Bama still leads. If UGA had been a factor for longer I would be more concerned (not that I completely lack concern at present). However, UGA has only really heated up the last couple of months. She's the new girl giving him attention.

FWIW, Jenkins was teammates with Alabama freshman LaMichael Fanning in high school for like 20 minutes.

Im inclined to agree with you that bama leads (being a generalp realist) but jenkins relationship with uga is long tenured. He almost gave us a commitment this summer at dawgnight along with john theus and the 2013 trio, but kirby got him on the phone amd played the "betcha richt and co aint coming back, dont even bother with that mess" and at the time it was a convincing enough argument to keep jenkins from committing. From there, uga shot themselves in the foot with the start we had, lending some credence to what kirby was spewing, so we had to do a lot of work bith on and off the field to get back into good graces. What youre seeing now is kirbys ploys starting to backfire and uga and granthams season starting to work for us, not against us. But jenkins still has a long, close relationship with smart and bama so who knows if ugas otherwise oustanding image in the jenkins family's eyes will be enough to sway him

I will say this: uga is very thin at ILB for the future. We could do a few things, including leaving the ILB slots open for next year to use for johnny o'neal and reuben foster, or we could solve this whole jenkins mess right now and offer teammates jay ellison or jagger buggs. Personally, i think foster is hands down the more important, better player, but en again theres no guarantee we get him anyway. Tricky business there...

Durden is right. The announcement date has literally NOTHING to do with his ultimate decision. The network set that up for him.
Obviously, UF and AU fans might as well not get there hopes up here.
Bama and UGA battle and I still think he chooses Bama thanks to all the hot seat talk at the beginning of the year and CKS's negative recruiting. Just tough for me to see us going from 3rd to 1st in his recruitment in such a short period of time.
We'll see.

After the CK soap opera last year, I think we should all realize nothing is a sure thing until we see fax girl's derriere post the name on the screen.

Agreed. I think it was stupid for all the GA fans around me to keep talking about how they wanted Richt gone when I was watching all the talent deciding to leave the state. But I think Jenkins ends up at Bama and UGA will land JHC. Unless Grantham has pulled off a miracle.
I know that I am not a Georgia poster, but I follow the states recruiting closely.

Sadly, we won't get to look at her assets on NSD this year. Two SEC coaches complained it was unfair, and the SEC complied.
