FWIW He has been doing some SERIOUS waffling, so best I've heard sticking w/ Bama might not happen

If we could get Brandon Greene to switch that would be HUGE for O-Line. We would have serious depth for a few years if we could finish out our class with Greene and Avery Young.

been hearing that as well, and while Rusty is reliable he has been right about some that many didn't expect but also wrong about a few that other insiders called perfectly. I guess, hence, they're called predictions for a reason. Mostly just the safe bets based on gut feelings.

And a Merry Christmas to you too, Tyde Hope Santa treated you and yours exceptionally well

An OL class of Theus, Chester Brown, Greg Pyke, Mark Beard, Avery Young, and Brandon Greene would have me friggin ecstatic.

We do that, split between Jenkins or JHC, land Kenderious Whitehead, land Redmond and Dawson at DB, land Cordarelle Patterson, and split between Davis or Gurley, and I would say it is an equal class to last year's, if not better

Better Defensive class, did UGA sign any NG prospects for the new Dawg 3 man front?

Also FWIW according to Rusty Mansell from TOS Bama gets Jenkins and the rumors are untrue about there being problems with him and our coaching staff, all according to Mansell

I'm hearing Bama as well

yes, Jonathan Taylor who is one of the Top 3 players in the state with JHC and Jordan Jenkins this year. 6'4 317lbs.
LINK

And, yes, Mansell did predict that Bama is out in front, but he didn't say that the rumors about unhappines with Kirby were untrue, just that he wasn't going to approach the subject with the Jenkins family (Rusty is a nice guy and typically has a pretty good relationship with all recruits and their families. Would be a pretty rude topic to bring up, I'd think, and the Jenkins have all proved to be intelligent, class acts thus far so I doubt even if the question were asked it'd be answered).

Thanks for clearing that up, just read what was posted on Bama Rivals on Mansell, but that makes sense now

I obviously dont keep up with recruiting like some of you guys do..But I read somewhere that the state of Ga. puts out the 4th highest number of D1 prospects. So apparently they have plenty to go around. So it is not surprising that Bama is getting some. NS has seemed to make it a priority to go after Ga players.

That is why Coach Saban got Alabama to schedule Clemson, 2008, and Virginia Tech, 2009, to open the seasons in the Georgia Dome.

tsk, tsk. I am sure that Mansell will be thrilled to know his premium info is getting reposted on another board.

Also, the problems are because Kirby Smart has recruited against UGA via two things- the longevity of the staff in residence and supposedly a poor academic presence. The whole academic premise was debunked pretty quickly once UGA got him on campus. The longevity issue blew up in Kirby's face when he started looking around at HC jobs. Sure he didn't take Southern MIss, but he is nonetheless still looking. I believe that Jenkins and his father also really like Grantham when they visited officially. We will see in the end, I guess, but not too many new LBing offers going out of UGA right now..

Stuff gets around brah. Most major premium info finds its way out to the media or through the grapevine within a couple of hours. Stuff like film, the 2013 class, in-depth practice reports and quotes is what you sign up for the premium boards for. Everything else will be found out quick

Really, I have always found the words of certain posters the best sources. The best info used to be on the Dawg Post chat room, may she rest in peace, when no lurkers were about. However, getting Bama fans exiled from the UGA 247 site wouldn't exactly burn my butt. :double bird:

Also, UGA has John Atkins committed. In addition, Chris Mayes may make it back to UGA in 2013 after the Juco route.

For damn sure. I'd take anything Lowndes says over Rusty, Kipp, Radi or Dasher. Sac and kicker over on AFL, and Soc over at LHB are up there too with folks I trust

I'm starting to waiver on the idea of Jenkins coming to UGA. If it were as cut and dry as Bama vs UGA from a football, coaching, PT and comfortability standpoint I'd feel better, but academics are a big thing for Jenkins and his family and engineering is pretty damn established at Bama. Just doesn't give me a good feeling, all things considered
