He's a big priority on the board so Texas is definitely going to recruit until the whistle. But I think Missouri has this one all but wrapped up.

Good pick-up and great job by Drinkwitz and staff if so

ETA: nevermind

He cancelled going to OU-Texas to visit Mizzou. Then visited Mizzou again last weekend. And moved his announcement up right after that. He could always flip to Texas but unless he pushes back his announcement I just don't see any way he's not putting a Mizzou cap on today

Latest news is that he wasn't a take for Mizzou. Too much talent at receiver and Wingo wanted a guarantee that he would start as a freshman. So he went to a school that guaranteed him that + extra NIL money

Wish we could have got him, but in the age of NIL it isn't the same defeat recruiting losses used to be.
The same NIL funds that were there for Wingo can be deployed to other players, including areas of greater need such as OL and DL, and LB. We lose Hopper this year. Whatever we offered Wingo, I bet it gets some good defensive players in the portal.
Good luck to Wingo.

Had the same thought. Definitely wanted him even with the highly talented WR room we have currently and will likely have next year, but looking at the half of the glass that is full, I suggest we take solace in that.
