Seems like an odd take since he was ranked at #14 in the top WR's in the country going into this season by ESPN

Why don't you watch him fricking play every game 3 or 4 times like I did

Man. I dunno why you’re trashing Dom. He was a consistent weapon for us and it wasn’t his fault Cook was absolute dog shite at passing the ball and getting it out on time.

I'm not trashing I just have to say it like this because everyone else is putting him on a pedestal.

He was our best receiver last

This year he was gonna be a back up slot receiver.

Dude. We are having a conversation. No need to get upset. I am not trolling. Just found rankings because you seemed so certain....I wanted something other than a message board guy opinion. I'll bow out of this thread. My intent is not to get people upset, but to have a conversation. That is what this board is for.

you know damn well you are being disengenuous.

I already gave some good reasons why he isn't an actual #1 receiver well before you posted.

nice lame little boomer troll attempt though.

beat it kid

Lovett is solid. I was certainly upset when he transferred! I'm sure $$ had an impact, and it will continue to have an impact as each year the new recruits are going to bring in NIL deals larger than the existing players in many cases (same shite happens in private sector when you hire new folks at wages similar to that of the the 30 year employee...sometimes you have to go elsewhere to get paid...but employers have to recruit and attract talent).

I do not see how Lovett transfers to UGA thinking playing time will be easier to come by. No way, he will have to earn it just as he did at Mizzou. You do not win back to back titles if players are competing their tails off for PT. Kirby ain't guaranteeing playing time. I suspect one of Odom's greatest failures was guaranteeing Kelly Bryant PT to transfer to Mizzou. Just a hunch, but great way to piss off a roster that is busting arse to get PT. The transfer portal + NIL is going to expose a lot of coaches in terms of how they manage their teams...until things at least settle down a bit.

I wish Lovett nothing but success, he was a spark for our shite offense last year and I hate losing him. Dude was a stud for us last year...and yes I watched every game, several in person. Pay attention and you see kids not playing through in almost every game if they know the ball is not coming their way, saw it with Burden as well.

As for Wingo...MIZ has just never panned out with the Wingo's. Money talks so maybe the NIL stuff changes things and more in state kids stay home. Mizzou's best season, 2007...roster was stacked with Missouri dudes from every corner of the state, there were literally TONS of kids from MO on that team and were so close to playing for a natty. Yes Chase Daniel (TX) was a huge part of it as well, but that team was heavy missouri guys with Maclin, Coffman, Rucker, Temple, and on and on. So important to lock down the state. This NIL law is going to help with that...$$$$$ talk.

Georgia is talking out their arse on NIL when they pay the most. Even kids we’ve lost to them have mentioned NIL as a factor.

Hope Nwaneri and Burden help solidify him to us. What a boon 2 5*s would be.

I don’t think Nwaneri will sign with Missouri. I think he will flip day before signing day. Then he will sign an LOI with school and be immediately eligible for NIL then with the school he signs with. He is only doing this to get money now with the new law just passed in the state. But even he knows Missouri is battling Vandy for the bottom of the East, and couple of 5*’s will not change that. Drink is getting fired after this season.

He'll go to Mizzou for his freshman year to get paid, and then come to Georgia in years 2 and 3 to get coached up and win championships. Same story for the DL from Mizzou.

Interesting story on Wingo in the PD. (It's ultimately a pay site, but I think they give you a couple of free articles before they ask for $$$).

Wingo Article

The kid must be quite the athlete. Plays O & D, returns punts and kickoffs, and was even the PUNTER for the last two years. The article says the only time he's not on the field is when SLUH kicks off.

Was also surprised to learn that SLUH went 3-7 last year so they probably needed him to play that many positions. For those unfamiliar with St. Louis University High School, it's a private high school with pretty rigorous academic standards. They haven't won a football state title since 1970. Don't challenge them in Water Polo though!

You leading receiver with 847 yards and almost twice as many yards as you #2 receiver was not going to see the field as much? Who had y'all recruited that was going to take that much time away from him? I mean, I realize you have Burden, but I'm pretty sure you will use more than a one man WR set.

In the St Louis metro Lovett has been playing in Burden and Kevin Coleman’s shadow for years. Burden even transferred to ESL Lovett’s high school. One of the reasons Coleman didn’t come to Mizzou was because of Burden and Lovett probably chose Mizzou because he didn’t think Burden would go to Mizzou.

Mizzou has a really good WR coach that coached DK Metcalf and AJ Brown when they were at Ole Miss. The WR room is deep and has been coached up to be one of the best in the SEC.

Lovett runs good routes, but he is weak. He can’t block and if he is bumped at the line it takes him out of a lot of plays.

Lovett is a good WR, but Burden is better than Lovett in every aspect of the game. I would have loved for him to stay at Mizzou, but I would rather have Burden at slot.

He knew his production would go down, so it was probably a good choice for him to transfer, but the way he did it was wrong.

I'm sure there is quite a bit of legal footwork that prevents a flip if you opt for the money in high-school.

Not sure, legally, there can be.

Also, have to say, spreading the ball around to solid, reliable (perhaps not superstar) receivers is where UGA eats.

Burden was not good at blocking assignments last year. Just my opinion.
