If the National Park laws get enforced it would be great. A 20 year sentence would stop these crimes. Don’t you agree?

Recently over 1000 people were pardoned for breaking into the Capitol when it was closed.

It was a good idea by Trump. In business Trump would sue and not pay the contractor I’ve not heard of this happening. It looks bad for Trump when one of the no bid contracts was given to a donor that has a residence at Mar-a-Lago. It looks worse when that contractor has been convicted of bribing a congressman.

The only way this ends is with the IRGC being taken out and regime change

The Supreme Leader of Iran is not the leader of Hezbollah. The leader is in Lebanon

We can continue to take out the IRGC, but most of Hezbollah fighters and leadership are in Lebanon. This is where Israel has been bombing while the US has been focusing on Iran. If we were really serious about taking out Hezbollah and its leaders we would have started in Lebanon.
quote:

How many eras of Iranian leadership is gone while we lost 7 troops

A lot of Iranian Hezbollah members and leadership were killed, but they are easily replaced. Hezbollah headquarters is not in Iran and the top of Hezbollah is not from Iran.

Israel killed the leader of Hezbollah 2024, but they are stronger with Cruise Missiles that can hit anywhere in the Middle East.

We did not defeat Hezbollah we only bombed Iran. Most of the Hezbollah members, fighters, and leaderahip are not Iranian and they don’t live in Iran.

Just to clarify - you'd be okay with giving Iran $300 billion to rebuild the military targets we spent billions of dollars and 13 lives to destroy?

That’s a lot more than Obama gave them when he signed the Iran Nuclear Deal. It may have been a bad deal, but we gave their sanctioned money back and few billion more.

We gave them around $50 to $100 of their own money and about 2 billion of ours.

If this info is right we are getting screwed

Yeah, I’m invested in the issue as a college track athlete and former high school track coach, but the idea that track is just handing a football assistant coach a whistle and telling kids to run is so stupid. Coaching track at a championship level - especially with zero or very few assistants - is one of the hardest coaching jobs there is

A lot of smaller schools are still this way. They don’t have a real track coach just guys holding a whistle that never ran track or cross.

A few years ago a 1A school won state and they don’t have a track. 3 kids scored all their points. 1 ran a 1:51 800m and it was fastest time for all classes.

I know of another school that uses their band teacher as their track and cross coach. There are some small schools that use parents or substitute teachers.
He is doing something right. All crime is down. Homicide’s were down 30% and were at the lowest level in 60 years.

You really think Iran is coming out of this with more power?

If it ends tomorrow and no nuclear weapons deal is made they are coming out with more power.

Ayatollah Khamenei was killed and he was replaced by his son who is more conservative and radical son. They made a martyr of the 86 year old Ayatollah that only had a few years left before handing over the reins to his son.

If the war ends tomorrow Hezbollah is the biggest winner. They may have lost a few hundred of their top people, but they are easily replaced by more radical members of Hezbollah.
Democrats would be happy if the Senate Republicans kicked Tillis out of office. North Carolina has a Democrat governor that would replace Tillis with a Democrat.

Nothing will get accomplished in the Senate if there is infighting for the next 6 months. Taking away Majority Leader from Thune will only cause chaos

Run as an Independent this fall
quote:

I could see an independent run in 2028.

I could see an independent run for Congress this fall. To split the vote and screw Trump
quote:

For a state that has done everything they can to make guns illegal, they sure do get shot up a lot.

Per Capita California is pretty low they are ranked 45th. They have .71 deaths per 100,000 people.

1. Mississippi. 2.75
2. New Mexico 2.65
3. Alaska 2.47
4. Wyoming 2.44
5. Alabama 2.35
6. Louisiana 2.23
7. Montana. 2.17
8. DC. 2.13
9. Arkansas. 2.06
10. Tennessee 2.00

Nebraska is a toss up. The Democrats are endorsing Dan Osborne an Independent. He has a good chance at winning as long as a Democrat doesn’t run and split the vote.

North Carolina is probably going blue. Roy Cooper was elected 4 times as the AG of NC (2001-2017). The 4th time he ran unopposed. After being the AG for 16 years he was elected Governor for 8 years(2017-2025). Going to be really hard to beat him.

Roy Platner Army Veteran and oyster farmer is running for the Democrats. Military and the fishing industry have leaned right in the past and this could be a problem for Collins. The fishing industry is struggling in Maine and this gives Platner a better chance than Democrats have had in the past. Loosing the fishing vote could be a real bad for Collins.

Prosecutors with the DOJ alleged that the SPLC defrauded donors in maintaining a program which secretly paid more than $3 million to informants affiliated with the KKK, the Unite the Right rally, Aryan Nations, the National Alliance, and other extremist groups from 2014 to 2023

The SPLC is sleazy organization.

They defrauded their donors by paying informants to spy on the KKK and other far right groups.

That’s a lot different than funding the KKK

re: Trump's Health...

Posted by MizzouBS on 5/12/26 at 1:32 pm to
I remember when people had concerns of Ronald Reagan’s health and they had a legitimate reason to be concerned. I think most Biden voters was concerned about his health, but still voted for him because they hated Trump more.

To not be concerned about a person over the age of 70 that doesn’t get enough sleep, is overweight, and has bad eating habits is normal. My dad is in his 70’s and gets 6 to 7 hours asleep a night, takes a short nap in the afternoon, eats healthy, and he is not over weight. I’m still concerned about his health and not because he has any health issues, but because he is getting older.

If I saw him falling asleep during things that are important and hiding sores or bruises on his body with makeup I would start to be even more concerned.

Trump is old and he is not healthy, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t fit to be president. He doesn’t need to lie and talk about how he is the healthiest 80 year old they have ever seen.

He needs to make some lifestyle changes. He needs a better diet and better sleep habits.
Maps off in Missouri. Without gerrymandering Missouri would have 4 solid red, 2 blue, and 2 purple that lean blue.

St Louis has 5 districts in the metropolitan area. With no gerrymandering St Louis would have 1 blue district, 1 red, and one purple district

Without gerrymandering Kansas City would have 2 districts instead of 3. 1 blue and 1 purple.

50% of Missouri’s population live in the Kansas City and St Louis metropolitan areas.
It’s a holiday in both countries. Ukraine had 8 to 10 million people die in WWII. More than quarter of the Soviet deaths were from the Ukraine. After the Russian invasion they moved the date from May 9th to May 8th.

Both countries wanted the ceasefire
Yes and no. One of the biggest reasons was because people in the south didn’t like people from the north. Kinda of like politics today a lot of people on the left and people on the right don’t like each other. Slavery was the biggest reason.

quote:

There were many, many free blacks who also owned slaves, because that was the needed labor of the day.

There was a little over 3,700 freed black people that owned slaves. A lot of the black people that owned slaves bought family members out of slavery. There was around 3.5 million slaves and little over 12,000 were owned by black people. There wasn’t “many, many” black people that owned slaves. 99% plus were owned by white people
quote:

This is the product of 10 straight years of media propaganda and gaslighting about Trump. ALL forms of media.

This is not a new phenomenon that the media has created. The media hasn’t helped, but it’s not something that is new. Every president in the last 100 years has an attempt on their life except Johnson. Ford had 2 attempts in 17 days 1 of them was from 3 feet away, Reagan was shot, 17 people were arrested related to a plot to kill HW Bush, Clinton had 4, W Bush had a grenade thrown at the podium he was speaking at that malfunctioned, Obama had 11 attempts, and Biden had 2.

People are crazy and believe in what they are doing. John Hinckley was released from prison 4 years ago after serving 41 years for shooting Reagan. He shot Reagan to impress Jodie Foster

There are probably a lot of more plots or attempts on presidents that have been thwarted that the public doesn’t know about.
The motorcade and the White House are both around a half a mile from where the shooter was shot.

quote:

The dude fired his gun!

After being chased by a plain clothed SS agent and he shot a juvenile
I don’t think this was assignation attempt. It was a plain closed SS agent patrolling that saw someone with a gun. You can conceal and carry in DC just not on Memorial grounds. This was at the National Mall

quote:

I think the damage he's had to his reputation and stature is more than enough punishment.

Governor’s, Senators, Congressmen, or State Representatives that stand on principle and don’t toe the party line is what politics should be. Politicians should represent their constituents and not the party. It shouldn’t be they do it so we’re gonna do it. More things would get done in Washington if people didn’t toe the party line and represent their constituents.

Do the majority of the people in the state want their districts to be gerrymandered? In Missouri the majority of people don’t want gerrymandered districts. It is on the ballot this fall and will pass

Politicians should not decide congressional districts
