Heard is going to be really good.
He wasn't ready last year when he was called up. Maybe 2024.

Thought it was Ole Miss?? Now it's Tennessee?

I agree, he's going to be a great OT. Just needs some good coaching and a good attitude. Attitude, however, will be very important to his development...

Tennessee, meet your new starting LT.

If the kid is seriously demanding a starting role.....every HC in football should run!
Of course this will never happen. I am damn glad Fisher is gone who coveted these 5 stars and gave them special treatment. Totally f-d our culture and set us back in hopes of an easy path to a natty. Good for LSU's staff for denying his BS. I give Kelly credit (finally..lol).
I know this much if he is looking for a commitment to start....the school that gives him a deal will regret it.
Ever heard of working hard to earn your freaking spot? Damn kids and damn NIL. Worse are the people empowering them.

His other big issue is conditioning. He was sucking wind big time down here and came in overweight. With how fast TennerC likes to run their offense he will need tons more conditioning and lose about 20 more pounds unless they want to have to rotate him out. And he has slow feet, needs more coaching.
That’s why I thought he was retarded to say he deserved the LT spot over a top 15 pick next year in Campbell.

Heard is a beast and he's going to be a good one at UT Knoxville.
As good as he is, he ain't Will Campbell who will be a top 10 pick.
It's a new day in college and it sucks to lose him...but it's the new reality. Tennessee is getting a future 1st rounder.

Thanks boys. It looks like he got entered into the school directory today. Nothing official yet though from recruiting sites.

We needed this guy, bad.
Our prospects look a little rosier for 24. 10-2 instead of 9-3?

I'm guessing Tenn guaranteed he will have a starting spot
Probably. We just lost our RT, and have no one better than Heard to replace him.
Mincey was a pretty good one, but I'm thinking Heard is an upgrade.

Paying a kid $400k a year with zero starts is an upgrade?
Posted on 1/20/24 at 9:31 am to memphisplaya
It is an upgrade...Heard is going to be all SEC, maybe 2nd team but he'll be a really good one.
Once he gets his paws on someone, it's over. He has good feet for a 19 year old, great strength, mean streak and is athletic.
But he ain't Will Campbell or Emory Jones...it's a smart move to go to the Hillbillies

Sorry TN.....poorly spend NIL money on another kid that cares more about $$$ than turning himself into a 1st rounder.....
Posted on 1/21/24 at 10:37 am to FootsFanatic
Maybe he wanted to go to a place that just had a top 10 draft pick tackle within the last 2 drafts?

Well given what Glen Elarbee did with Darnell Wright, Heard will have every chance to make himself into a first round pick.
