He got his feelings hurt when he couldn’t beat out our current LT

ETA: he’s going to be a good one though

Thanks boys. Wasn't sure if there were any red flags for disciplinary issues or anything like that. Sounds like he wants immediate playing time

Nope, just not a fan of him not going to the bowl game. But minor.

He expects to be named the starter. If there is competition he may transfer again. Could be a really good in a year or two. Would have started for LSU next year just not where he wanted.

Haven’t heard anything about where he is going to transfer to. Surprised it’s taking this long honestly.

Nobody big school(top 25) is going to guarantee him the left tackle position. That'd be dumb, even if his potential is through the roof.

He could be waiting for a while or maybe BK is rerecruiting him back to LSU.

he wants to play tackle and he isn’t beating out either of ours for another year.

I wouldn't guarantee ANY player a starting position. Ever. A spot on the team is all I would offer, even if I know you are going to end starting. You have to earn it. But more importantly, you have to give the other players you already have at least a shot at it.

He wants to be paid, 750j or more and to start at LT so he can go to NFL.

What he doesn’t want to do is work hard and earn any of this.

He’s not playing RT at LSU either in 2024 short of an injury.

idk if he’s playing either guard spot.

Heard wants a guarantee at starting left tackle.

He tried to extort LSU for left tackle NIL money and quit when they didn't.

He wants immediate playing time, but he wants immediate playing time at Left Tackle and to be guaranteed the spot.

That’s just not going to happen at LSU with Campbell here. We had really high hopes, so the way he’s leaving is extremely disappointing, but it’s the modern game I suppose.

We could potentially get him the RT job next season if we move Emery Jones to guard which is his natural position, but it didnt sound like he was interested in that. Also both guards are back for now it seems like.

Will Campbell is back for another year and he's the LT, and probably the best one in the country. Lance Heard wants that spot and it just wasnt going to happen till 2025 assuming Campbell went to NFL early.

Lance Heard and Will Campbell played on the same high school OL, and when that was the case Campbell was the LT there as well. I think Heard is just a little bothered by being behind him again and thinks he's an elite LT himself (which he could be, but we'd be crazy to bench Campbell who is again probably best LT in country for next season).

When Heard was coming in there's interviews of him saying he would fight Campbell for the LT job and he wanted to take it from him. He thought he was better.

Tennessee insiders seem to think it’s a done deal to us

Will be a good one it seems. I'm guessing Tenn guaranteed he will have a starting spot. Could be all sec in another year or two. Doesnt seem to like competition though.

Its not about liking or not liking competition. He wants to play LT (and now) and has zero shot of doing that at LSU until 2025 at the earliest because no coach in the country would bench arguably the best (And experienced) LT for a guy who hasnt proven anything.

His only hope of starting LT at LSU next season is if there was injury to Will Campbell. This is why he's transferring. He doesnt seem receptive to the idea of playing RT if we moved Emery Jones inside, and even then thats not guaranteed if both starting guards are back.

We need a strong tackle probably more than any other position. The entire OL needs some more dudes after a few of our own guys transfered out
