Actually it's one first rounder in the last 1 draft. But I'm sure the NFL draft in 2016 was far more relevant to current recruits than last year's...

It shows that Texas cannot consistently put players in the NFL. Bijan was a first round pick. Durham still decided to commit to LSU today even though he plays the same position as Bijan.

If only Texas' head coach was a coordinator for Saban on a national championship team. One can only wonder though...

Texas' head coach coached with Nick Saban for 2 years, one of them being COVID. I'm not going to get into the advantages Alabama had that season.

Sark has been a head coach for a decade and has never made it to a conference title game. He has shown who he is as a coach.

Sure we do! Texas had more first round draft picks than LSU in the last NFL draft, so I guess he sees earning potential in the future

Having to twist words in an argument and create a narrative that doesn't exist certainly helps your cause in this discussion.

So every kid that goes to Texas ever is only about the money? They couldn't be from the state and stay close to home? They couldn't have grown up as fans of the program? They couldn't have seen a course curriculum they liked more at one school than the other?

Your doubling down on "Texas only won because they had more money! " is kind of proving my point on the sour grape
No. There certainly can be kids who go to Texas because they grew up as die hard fans of the program, just like there can be for any other school.

This was pretty clearly not a case of that. When I'm referring to other schools and recruiting battles for top talent, I'm simply saying some schools can offer production and development while others can offer money and nostalgia.

You're willing to use context to discredit Sark at Alabama, but will willfully ignore all context behind Sark's head coaching stops at Washington and USC? Good grief, man.

Who says I was the one twisting words? I could very well be right (look at the top reply on this page)

And Texas can also provide production and development. Look at last years draft and feel free to return to this comment after the 2024 draft

Yeah, your argument isn't great

Sounds to me like Simmons got a damn strong offer then struggled for a reason when he was asked why he picked UTa.

“Only what I think is what mattered in this recruitment! You’re wrong because I say you’re wrong!”

At this point, I don’t know if I could care less whether Simmons ever plays a down for texas or not. The collective melt from tigers over a 17-year-old choosing to go to a school that isn’t theirs has been more entertainment than a full football season

He’s clearly saying that he wouldn’t be able to take care of his family at LSU.

So?

For decades, the SEC and Aggy played the bag game while Texas was "above that" so uber-talented players left the lone star state because Texas wasn't the dirty program that typically permeates the SEC.

But now with NIL? With the resources that the University of Texas enjoys?

Good luck LSU and the rest of the SEC because now that the bag game is legal LSU ain't getting any player from Texas that UT is interested in.

LSU fans have always struggled losing out on recruits. Steal a 5* from Louisiana they were counting on they really lose their shite.

Gerald Willis did do nothing at Florida but i still remember the LSU bitch fest on here.

Ah, yes, 5 for 5.

LSU got the only 2 that were worth it.

I would say there's no way you could believe that, but you're a Texas fan, so you're probably arrogant enough to believe it.

You probably also fart into Mason jars.

Yeah, Alabama hiring Saban forced Chicken to make SECR. Texas in the SEC might just force him to make a other board.

Just the first bid. Long way to go before transaction closes.

These types of recruitments often take unexpected turns a few says before signing.

Sure better to have him committed but his language made it clear he was just making a reservation.
