In regards to the NFL alumni, Bama will have a ton of kids drafted that are currently on campus but so will LSU. We've got 8 this year and this isn't the big year for us. Next year is our big year assuming the underclassmen go as we expect. If not then it will be the next 2 years and that's not counting the guys that aren't going to be high draft picks. Our current Jr class is what you guys class being drafted now was. Both schools are loaded and after the older guys get cycled out the numbers will be much closer. I'd say 5-6 years the numbers will be very close and at that point Bama probably moves ahead.
The thing with Mitch is that he isn't a commitable guy for us either. Don't get the fuss. Over negative recruiting? Every school does it and every school will continue to do it. It's perfectly within the rules(gentlemen's rules not NCAA) and part of recruiting. Do the Bama guys really think both Desean Smith and Connor Mitch just made up their negative recruiting stories? No one is that naive. I know the Saban lore can take a person over but reality has to set in eventually. Still even with what those kids said it's meaningless unless the kid takes offense to it. Some kids buy into it and some don't. Every kid(and fan) also has a different definition of what negative recruiting is. To me mentioning another school even while comparing to your school is technically negative recruiting against that school even if it's factual. Otherwise why mention the other school? The whole point is to make the kid look favorably at your school and less favorably at the other. That is negative recruiting. What most fans and kids consider negative recruiting is the blatant downing of another school and criticizing another school. Basically what that Urban Meyer article said he did to Florida when bringing up the criminal history which he facilitated. In the end none of it means anything. The purpose is to get the kids you want by any means necessary.
