As of today I dont think Nkemdiche will be a part of this class.

WTF?!?!?!?!?!?
extreme pessimist coupled with gut feeling? or do you agree that it reaks of Jameis Winston? With LSU playing the role of F.ree S.hoes U.
I will say this, losing the top player many believed to be a Bama lock to LSU or anywhere else would hurt like hell
, but Bosa & J. Allen along with keeping Foster would help me get over it REAL QUICK

No, I dont think it is similar to Jameis. Had we only gone after him the whole time instead of him and Kiel, I think he would have committed.

I'd have to disagree, but he's not a lock at all. I still think we lead for his services, but I'd put us somewhere in the 60% range.

Had nothing to do with Kiel, BUT Kiel not commiting to Bama had EVERYTHING to do with Winston visiting with Grandma, weird how recruiting works
Didn't matter though, he would've switched to ND in the end regardless

Cool article on "The rise of Belue"

No Kirkpatrick and Menzie? No problem at Bama
The Crimson Tide are always ready to reload under Saban.
Dave Miller
Alabama's defensive rise under head coach Nick Saban is consistently praised — and with good reason.
But because the Crimson Tide have grown accustomed to stout defenses, many of their best defenders are talented enough to leave for the NFL after their junior seasons. Thus, replenishing top producers in the starting lineup is always a cause for concern.
But in Tuscaloosa, reloading and not rebuilding is the name of the game.
Case in point: the starting cornerbacks in 2012.
The Crimson Tide have to replace 75 percent of their starting defensive backfield from their BCS national championship team, including NFL-bound star cornerbacks Dre Kirkpatrick and DeQuan Menzie. So with spring practice being used to evaluate potential starters, Deion Belue has used these offseason drills to make quite an impact on Saban and the defensive staff.
The Northeastern Mississippi Community College transfer, who two years ago failed to qualify at Alabama, has impressed so much that he arguably is slotted into one of those open starting spots.
In Alabama's first scrimmage of the spring, he intercepted an AJ McCarron pass near the goal line and ran it back 97 yards for a touchdown.
"He certainly has matured in terms of his junior college experience," Saban said of Belue. "He has done a nice job of developing this spring. He's a really good man-to-man cover guy. At times, he gets a little bit unsure of himself in terms of what he's supposed to do.
"I think he's definitely going to be a player that contributes and has the potential to be a starter on our team next year."
The rise of Belue, who could also return punts, is huge for a unit that led the nation in most pass defense categories in 2011. Senior Robert Lester will be the anchor of the defensive backfield at one of the safety spots, with sophomores Ha’Sean Clinton-Dix and Vinnie Sunseri competing for the other safety spot. But there's room on the depth chart for junior-college transfer Travell Dixon and Dee Milliner to move up, claim spots in the rotation and put more pressure on Belue for a starting job at corner.
No matter who starts the season opener, however, opponents won't feel sorry for a team that is making a habit out of churning out top NFL prospects.

Belue has all the bare necessities to succeed under Saban...

Stop and think about one of Alabama's strongest recruiting tools for a moment. While we do not yet know enough about the WR's or the H-back slots yet, what is the likelyhood of every other starting slot on both offense and defense being drafted over the next 3 years? It looks to me like we will have 10 players drafted in each of the next 3 drafts.

Alabama is about three years out from having the most former players in the NFL.

So I'm guessing Belue has clearly seperated himself from T. Dixon?
Anybody think we'll ever see Perry/Williams as a full time starters? Looking at who we have, and whos coming in, I dont see who they'll beat out. They're a class ahead of Vinny and Haha. These guys a far from scrubs..

No real chatter about their development this spring. I was hoping Jarrick Williams or Nick Perry would solidify a spot in the nickel or dime packages.

Barring injuries, Perry/Williams will be special teams stars and mop up Db's.

Belue has handled the play book better which has allowed him to play a little faster. This is only the 4th year of football for Dixon, his learning curve is a bit more dramatic. Dixon is also trying to learn both CB and star while Belue is just learning CB.

Thanks guys, that's a shame JW/NP. They'd be starter for many SEC teams. For some reason I thought Dixon had the inside edge on Belue once they got to campus.

You think we will surpass LSU and USC?
Miami, despite being a shite program for the past 6 or 7 years, still has a ton of guys in the NFL too.

Last year's new CBA is backfiring on the more established players. The combination of a salary cap with cheaper new players make it more difficult to keep aging players on the roster. Alabama should add 8 to this year's draft and as many as 10 to each of the next 3 drafts.
Yes, it is possible to pass both LSU and USC in the next few years.
