A-Day weekend is our single biggest recruiting weekend of the year. We always seems to get 4-5 commits during that week/weekend.

Next year's # 1 TE Adam Breneman spurned the Bama offer and verbaled to stay in state and play in Happy Valley on Friday

Lillian -
Congrats on your in state recruiting win. A stunning upset, indeed. Now if you can only manage to sign a class of 20+ kids that are good like him (and stack a couple more behind that class) then maybe your team will be relevant again (for the right reason his time).

Hate to say this friend, but this post came off looking a little insecure and angry sounding. Usually not like you.

Zaire is the QB who most intrigues me. Hopefully he enjoys his visit whenever he comes down. If he plays any games above Columbus I might have to go check him out

I'm not the only one unimpressed with Connor Mitch. It's kinda hard for a player to go under the recruiting radar while putting up those numbers. All 3 of the major services don't think highly of him. To me, again just my opinion, he is just like Alabama Class of 2012 QB Alec Morris. Plays for a traditional power, puts up big numbers, but isn't a big time recruit. There's nothing wrong with getting those types of players, see Greg McElroy. But more often than not those guys just don't make much of an impact.

Either way, congrats on being named his leader.

I hope we get Zaire too, but Connor Bateman would be a great consolation prize if we miss out on him.

UA has offered Woodbury (N.J.) defensive back Anthony Averett.

Averett has a grade of 91 from 247Sports and is also a track star.

What's with you guys and the Ohio quarterbacks this year? Zaire and Trubisky with Alabama offers.

Don't expect to get Zaire.

From what I have seen posted on a few boards, apparently Urban wants Trubisky more than Zaire.

I would love to see Alabama come out with a new goal line set this year. Imagine the impact a 4 TE goal line set would have on both the game and TE recruiting.

Fowler at RB. Williams (6'6") and Faciane (6'5") on the line. H Jones (6'4") and Vogler (6'7") at dual H-backs. Maybe slip B Lewis (6'3") in place of Vogler for power lead blocking.

I'm not sure what Urban wants at QB. I think there are 3 or 4 offers out to quarterbacks and they all need to throw at camp. They're high on Barrett from Texas as well.

The good thing is that this year seems to be one of the strongest in Ohio for quarterbacks in recent memory. We'll see what happens but I'd hate to see an athlete like Zaire leave the state.

I've always thought he was Nebraska's to lose. Bama has stetched its tentacles into Ohio before snatching DePriest and Kelly 2 yrs ago.

Would hate to think the staff is just throwing QB offers around, but I think its pretty evident that there is some type of scramble to land one QB since we lost out on a few of the higher targets. Browne is still out there but Im not holdong my breath.

True enough but Jones in the flat and Williams, Vogler and Faciane behind him in the end zone would be some big targets for AJ to look for in red zone passing.

The offers continue to roll in for Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge running back Bo Scarbrough. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound class of 2014 standout was recently offered by Clemson, to go along with current offers from Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and UCLA.

“We were at school working out and Coach (Mike) Smith talked to me about it and said he was going to let me talk to Coach Cheese (Charlie Harbison) and tell me some good news,” said Scarbrough. “They asked me if I could come down there and I said I don’t know yet and he offered me the scholarship right then. My reaction to it was that Clemson used to be a very good team a couple of years ago and they picked it back up this year.”

Scarbrough has an early top three with Alabama being joined by his two most recent offers.

“My top three would be Alabama, Clemson, and UCLA. With UCLA, that’s a pretty good team right there and it would be nice to go out there to California and have all that sun all the time.”

The rising junior blue-chipper has been a regular on the Alabama campus for quite some time and is comfortable enough with the program to say that the Crimson Tide will have the edge for his services when the time comes for a decision.

“The last time I was at Alabama was for the Florida basketball game. We have real good communication. I know all the coaches over there personally now. I’m being recruited by the new coach, Coach (Lance) Thompson. It’s not a big deal for me to go over there, since I’ve been so many times. Right now I’d have Alabama as my number one school that I would commit to during my senior year, but I’ll wake up with a different team that will pop in my head every morning.”

Despite his recruiting beginning to take off, Scarbrough’s primary focus has been rehabbing from a knee injury suffered in late October that saw him miss the remainder of Northridge’s season. The 247Sports Class of 2014 All-American is remarkably close to full speed just around five months after surgery.

“I’m going to the Nike Training camp on April 21st in Atlanta. I’m back running and doing track right now and trying to get back to that 4.3. I haven’t weighed myself in a minute, but last time I weighed at Alabama’s first junior day, I was 215, so I was proud of myself. I want to add a little more weight and be around 225 this season.”
