You mean the same Douglas MacArthur who, despite ample warning after the attack on Pearl Harbor allowed his entire Air Force in the Philippines be destroyed on the ground? Then followed this up by abandoning massive amounts of supplies his army would desperately need in the coming months by pulling back unnecessarily? Then followed that up earning the nickname “Dugout Doug” for never once visiting the front, a front he would soon enough abandon? Then follow that up later by sending the unready 32nd Infantry Div to New Guinea without any of its artillery and making it attack over the same Kokoda Track he himself had called impassable? And then followed that up by all but ignoring the logistics needs of his forces in New Guinea, all while he was safely encamped on his villa at Port Moresby, once again not coming close to the front?

By the way, have you heard about his 16 year old concubine he kept while in the Philippines?

Either Thomas Sumter (The Fighting Gamecock) or Francis Marion (The Swamp Fox) or James F. Byrnes.

Don’t you have a Big10 board to post on. Can’t you tell you’re not being well received. We don’t care about Ohio.

Levon is legendary.

James Brown, the Godfather of Soul, for the Empire State.

And I don't care where he was born Gamecocks, he's a Georgia boy.

Honestly texas doesn’t have a lot of good ones. Our politicians are all corrupt.

J. Evetts Haley is my answer in the world of politics. Not very well known. He tried to get Barry Goldwater elected and wrote a book risking his life to show how corrupt LBJ was. Sadly didn’t matter.

I’m not gonna scroll every page to see if he’s been mentioned but any list of greatest Alabamians has to have Jeremiah Denton on it. He was a pilot and was shot down in Vietnam and spent eight years as a POW from ‘65 to ‘73.

He famously used eye blinks in Morse code to spell T-O-R-T-U-R-E when the Vietcong interviewed him for a propaganda video. Absolute badass.

That's not what his birth certificate says.

We let Disgusta name the arena there after him in a effort to spread some of the Aiken/North Augusta wealth in that direction across the river but, it's not working. Although, I do like Society Draft ... provided LEOs are in the immediate area after dark.

You claiming James (The Godfather of Soul) Brown would be like South Carolinians claiming Williams Price Fox or James Dickey.

Sure, Fox lived in SC most of his life and taught one of my creative writing classes at SC but .... and Dickey lived and taught at SC and was the poet emeritus and wrote a famous novel about butt bangers in North Georgia based upon well known Georgia boy tendencies but ... nah, neither of them were South Carolinians.
