Just a wild shot in the dark for Tennessee: Allan Houston Bernard King Dale Ellis Ernie Grunfeld Tom Boerwinkle

Old heads will disagree, but I am taking Knecht over Earnie all day. Also give me Marcus Haislip over Bullwinkle.
Technically...Knecht is a forward, and on my list I was considering Grunfeld as a guard (even though they were the same height).
You are taking Haislip over Boerwinkle? Let's compare the two (even though the were in different eras) by their NBA careers.
Years in the league:
Boerwinkle - 11
Haislip - 4
NBA Games Played:
Boerwinkle - 685
Haislip - 89
Points Per Game:
Boerwinkle - 7.24
Haislip - 3.49
Rebounds per game:
Boerwinkle - 9.05
Haislip - 1.47
Assists per game:
Boerwinkle - 3.16
Haislip - 0.25
If you are looking at college careers...Boerwinkle was a 2 time first team all sec player who helped Tennessee win an SEC Championship. In college he averaged 3 more points per game, 6 more rebounds per game, had a shooting % that was 10 points higher. So he had better numbers in both college and in the NBA.
Also...remember that Boerwinkle was 2 inches taller and weighed 35 pounds more than Haislip. So...why are you taking Haislip over Boerwinkle? Sure...Haislip had a great career in the European leagues playing for teams from Turkey...but other than that, I don't see the logic.

Surprised not to see Blaylock on that list for OU. I also liked Skeeter Henry. He could move for his size and played shooting guard

I was a big fan of his in college, and he's surpassed my expectations in the NBA.
Hard not to consider him at least an honorary selection, even if he doesn't make the "actual" list.

Yes and Hollis Price is another that could be there.

quote:Depends on if we're doing "best players to ever play at your school" or "best college players while at your school". If the former I'd have to go with a slightly smaller lineup:
Sprewell at Guard and Leon Douglas at Center
G - Collin Sexton
G - Latrell Sprewell
F - Brandon Miller
F - Gerald Wallace
F - Antonio McDyess
If the latter I'd have to think a bit.

OU has several other guys that are on par with the ones you listed... particularly if you include their NBA careers...
First, as a college player... Alvan Adams was as good as anybody that ever played at OU when you consider he had no help.
Garfield Heard and Clifford Ray played on middlin' OU teams... but had long established pro careers. Better than Tisdale or King.
Anthony Bowie, Harvey Grant and Ryan Minor probably deserve mention as guys who were also in the mix of an all OU team.
Others have mentioned Mookie Blaylock who certainly could be in there as a guard.

Starting lineup
PG: Eddie Johnson
G: Wesley Person
C: Johni Broome
PF: Charles Barkley
SF: Marquis Daniels
Though I'd be tempted to make Jabari Smith the starting center of I was trying to build the best college team.

Do not care who the other 4 are, as long as Marshall Henderson is one of them

Doug Smith over John Brown.

This is sort of hard, as we have had a lot of one and done's the last few years, and I prefer the only way where players stayed a few years.
But I would go with:
F - Jack Goose Givens
C- Dan Issel
F - Kenny Walker
G - Kyle Macy
G - Tony Delk
But here is who I'm having to leave out.
Anthony Davis
Karl Anthony Towns
John Wall
Devin Booker
Jamal Mashburn
De'Aaron Fox
DeMarcus Cousins
Antoine Walker
Julius Walker
Tyrese Maxey
Rex Chapman
Tahshawn Prince
Sam Bowie
Malik Monk
Bam Adebayo
Shai Gilchris Alexander
Tyler Herro
Ron Mercer
Derek Anderson
Eric Bledsoe
Jeff Sheppard
Mark Pope
Rick Robey
PJ Washington
Ckiff Hagan
Louie Dampier
Tyler Ulis
Patrick Patterson
Ralph Beard
Willie Cauley Stein
Walter McCarty
Brandon Knight
Jodie Meeks
Michael Kidd Gilchrist
Scott Padgett
Travis Ford
Chuck Hayes
Nazr Mohammad
Mike Pratt
James Lee
OscarTshiebwe
Mike Phillips
And more....

This LSU 5 (Shaq, Pete, Bob Pettit, Rudy Macklin, Chris Jackson) > Kentucky > Texas > Florida > Auburn > Oklahoma >Tennessee. Pete and Shaq would be the most fun to watch. I wonder how many passes would bounce off Shaq's big head.

Was expecting Chris Lofton? He was amazing. Your list is great though, Houston, King and Grunfield were unbelievably talented.
