44k in any SEC state goes a lot further than it does in New York.

I'm not trying to be a snot ball but those salaries seem low- as in all around low from top to bottom low.

What are these people majoring in paper shredding?

I had the exact same thoughts. But I guess a lot of people much. With my quarterly bonuses, I was making at or just above what A&M's was. That's not a brag, it was about the median of what most of those graduating with me with my degree got.

I mean, I do know people who went to a state university and are now pursuing a career as a hair stylist. Why? I have no fricking clue. There are way too many people doing jobs that require no college whatsoever that still piss their money away in college rather than getting time in the job so they can make more money down the road.

I would expect someone coming out of the business school to make 50k or more. That seems completely reasonable with most of the people I knew (I guess including you technically). So I don't get those numbers for any of the schools

My wife fits the bill. She got her degree in sociology and never used it. It worked out great because she's in the perfect situation that she can be a mother to the kiddos and still bring in some good money as she doesn't have to work a normal 8-5.

If any have salaries less than Vandy after even 5 years working, it's a reflection on you as a person or profession choice. $61K after 10 years sounds like a lot of wasted degrees weighing it down.
