There are a lot of foreign concepts to many Mississippians, but this isn't one of them. Some grads get well paying jobs in this state through connections. Conversely, many of those who don't have a political advantage have to move to big cities for opportunity.

By this logic the absolutely best university on ROI is WGU.

Vandy is a helluva school.....but $61K after 10 years? I’m sure that is very high for all universities but jumping Christ almighty no wonder student loan debt is so high......that degree would cost what, $100K? A kid would be better off to go to trade school and start making that kind of money in 6 years instead of 14 and have what, $15k invested in education IF they weren’t in a Union apprenticeship program. If they are they’ll have NOTHING in education costs.......

Those salaries look pitiful 10 years out school, we're two semesters shy of getting our youngest kid out of college and I damn sure hope she's going to be making more money than that after we dropped 100k+ on her degree.

It’s tough out here. I just got a promotion from 37,800 to go to 48,500 and I’m 3 years out. I have numerous friends who can’t even get a job. What sucks even more is we have more bills that weren’t around 20-30 years ago. Internet, higher tv bills (if you still go that route), cell phone, more student loan debts, higher insurance, and overall cost of living going up while pay hasn’t.

I don't claim the Univ. of Arkansas to be upper echelon but being ranked that low is silly.

Gen Y has faced some of the worst economic times. I’m lucky to live in a city that’s booming (not like it was ‘10-‘13) for the most part and survived about 10 rounds of layoffs from ‘14-‘16 but I do know a lot that have struggled. I guess it’s pretty easy to bring the avg down when your income is 0.

Damn, Ole Miss has really stepped up their game

Used to always be unranked, but they have been getting better reviews everywhere the last few years

Congrats Rebs

Depends on your field. Guarantee you can make a lot more if you're mobile. I started out slightly higher than you and have over doubled my salary in 2.5 years because of mobility.

Find me a ranking of the universities as a whole where Mississippi State isn't last in the SEC academically and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Honestly surprised they rank Georgia that low and the two so close. I've always thought quite highly of UGA academically speaking. Not Vandy level but I would think somewhere in the mid 100s.

We used to be much higher. We’ve evolved into a paper mill over the last 10 years
