Damian Allan at Vanderbilt..95-97

Less than 44% completion percentage, only 3700 yards passing as the starter for 3 full seasons, 17 TD’s and 28 INT’s.

While he's by no means the worst, Zeke Bratkowski for UGA deserves a mention.

Zeke was a 2nd round NFL draft pick and had a long NFL career.

But if you look at his passing numbers, you wouldn't think it. In 3 seasons he was 360/734 (49%) with 4863 yards (6.6 yards per attempt), 24 TD and 68 INT.

Yes... 68 picks. 22.6 per season.

Shows how different college football was back then. He led the SEC in passing yards twice and averaged just 1600 yards passing a year. This was the early 50's.

And it wasn't like he made up for it by running the ball. He had -31 rushing yards at UGA. Throwing for 1600 yards and 8 TD and 23 picks a year was considered exceptional passing QB play at that time.

jamie Howard and he isn't near the worst in SEC history. The issue with that game was he wasn't having a good game that day at any point. One TD pass he had was on a bad throw that was deflected and a WR ran it in from long distance. LSU built a 26-9 lead in the 4th with defense and the running game. The OC was forcing him to throw down field when he was having a terrible day. That game was on Lynn Amadee not Jamie Howard.

It’s a shame that game is what he’s remembered for. He was having a good year in ‘95 until a shoulder injury ended his season.

John David Phillips, Andrew Zow, and Tyler Watts were collectively lukewarm dog shite.

Unless facing Ole Miss. Then Zow and even Fat Freddie played like first rounders against the Rebels.

First, anyone notice that 2 of the 5 OP's bad QBs were kids from Arkansas (Frazier and Burns) that Aubie "stole"... LoL.

2nd, I would trade any and every QB that has been listed on here for the following Hog QB's

Peanut Adams
Robby Hampton
Ben Hicks
Pete Burks
Jason Allen

Ain't no way he played that many games

IIRC he only started one game vs South Carolina & was so awful he quit football.

It blows my mind someone says Greg McElory who won a natty and played in the NFL and fails to realize how bad other SEC teams QBs have been over

It's true tho. McElroy was a very average QB on a great team. As for his NFL career, he made one start bc Mark Sanchez & Tebow were hurt, lost the game, & then he got cut & never played again.

I think this topic is more about QBs that were worse than average and didn't play in the NFL at all.

Archie Manning is widely considered one of the best college QBs of his generation and he threw more picks than TDs too. Of course, he had some wheels.

Archie joked on the 30 for 30 episode that Eli told him, "Dad, you know your numbers at Ole Miss weren't that great."

Bratkowski was more than 15 years before Manning, but it was simiar.

Still hard to think that a second round NFL pick considered a pure passer had nearly 3 times as many interceptions as TD in a 3 year college career.

I was going to say Nathan Peterman at UT...but he transferred to Pitt and threw for over 5,200 yards in 2 seasons and has bounced around NFL teams for the last 7 years...under Dooley at UT in 9 games is stats were:

20/43 (46.5%) 0 TDs 2 INTs (QBR of 56/5).

Carter had some absolute duds in some games, but overall he was okay. Only 55% completion percentage, but 7.6 yards per attempt.

His big issue was he got worse each year. 60% then 56% then 49% completion percentage, 8.6 then 7.1 then 6.8 yards per pass attempt. 140 then 128 then 107 passer rating. 2.9 then 2.5 then 1.3 yards per rush.

Overall he was okay, but his career can best be described as "constant decline".
