I frankly don't want Mizzou to leave. I'd much rather have Mizzou and that population base than take a KSU or West Virginia to even out our teams.

I'm simply asking if Mizzou would consider joining with Kansas, and saying it might actually be better for them. I would rather be in the Big Ten close to all my rival teams if I were a Mizzou fan.

Same here - I don't want them to leave but was curious how they'd feel if they could go to the B1G and have a core of their old rivals/opponents with them.

Sounds like they'd rather stay here.

As a Mizzou fan, it comes down to staying and competing against the best or settling for easier mediocrity.

There's not even a choice.

Missouri is in a good spot now. Why would they change that? They're making a lot of money and in very stable league

They are in a great spot for sitting back and collecting paychecks to get their asses whipped. If they want to be Vandy then fine. But they are a good enough above average state school that they could compete for Big Ten West championships among rival schools that share roughly the same facilities and prestige as them. And they could do that while still collecting a fat B10 check. Look at what Wisconsin and Iowa have been able to consistently do in that side of the league. They could easily compete at that level instead of being a doormat.

I actually want Mizz to stay now. I like the idea of the TU/OK/AR/MU pod. Our "rivalry" becomes much more real at that point and it puts us at the geographic center of it. This pretty much the only thing that could have happened to make me say that.

This expansion is great for Ark and Mizz IMO

That is definitely how conferences are being formed these days. That’s why Colorado is in the PAC and Maryland in the B1G.

I get your point but those teams chased security and money at the expense of their fans. I'm saying Mizzou could have security, money, a winning schedule, and happy fans in the Big Ten. I hope you stay but I would leave if I were Mizzou.

As an alumni and fan, the SEC is where I want to see my alma matter compete. Ask me that question 10 years ago and I might have a different response. I've visited pretty much every campus and everyone has been very welcoming and kind. I love the competition in all the conference sports we compete in.

Throw in the fact that I've seen the university put the revenue generated over the past few years to good use? It's a no brainer. Mizzou is not going anywhere.

Especially since the B1G originally slapped us in the face and only offered us a junior membership when this all originally began so long ago. The SEC has been nothing but welcoming (regardless of what it seems like on this forum).

Mizzou will not go the B1G0 the taste of the SEC championship in year 2-3 gave the Tigers a taste of SEC and swallowed it down like fine wine...We are thrilled to get invited and made Nebraska and the rest of the movers look like dumb moves meanwhile Aggies and Tigers look like genius's

100% this as well. Nubs, Colorado, and others all look like they made poor decisions, while we're coming out on the other side in a much better position. Hell, OU and Texas following after us ... just screams that. They see what we're doing over here.

Great, I am glad you are enjoying it. I've never been a Mizzou basher. It was an odd addition to the conference culturally and somewhat geographically especially with having to put you guys in the East, but it made sense financially. If you like the SEC, then stay. I just think you could do better long term in a conference with more similar peers and rivals so close to you.

This would be the only thing that would make adding the Longwhores palatable.

There's enough existing hate to make for some really great rivalries without being in a Murderer's Row pod.

You might not be wrong in regards to the old landscape. That being said, what does it look like in 20 more years? Rivalries have to start somewhere. Our new ones have been slowly forming over the past few years (regardless of what folks would tell you).

Folks will eventually forget about our Big 12 days and will only remember the SEC ones. Time heals all things and before long it'll seem like we've been here the whole damn time.

You really think the SEC NEEDS St. Louis and Kansas city? I guess if Missouri were to go to the Big 10 people who live there would never Watch Bama vs Texas or LSU vs Oklahoma or A&M vs Georgia or Ole Miss vs Florida or Auburn vs Tennessee etc

KC and STL TV markets combined are basically that of Atlanta or Boston but individually are the 7th and 10th largest TV markets in the SEC footprint. The Addition of A&M gave the SEC it's top two TV markets in Dallas and Houston. Those moves 10 years ago gave the SEC 5 top 30 television markets which was HUGE in driving the $$ in SECN.

This time around, Oklahoma City and Tulsa combined are basically that of STL alone as a market...not huge, but should illustrate that the move 10 years ago was about TV sets which is not the case this time around. Adding TX and OK is more about ensuring the long term stability of the conference and ushering in the new era of super conferences ultimately at the demise of the NCAA. I am all for it!

With this logic. What kind of revenue is Mississippi State bringing to the table with their TV sets? Do you think the SEC needs the state of Mississippi?

Iowa seems to do just fine with Iowa in the B1G and Iowa State in the Big 12. Maybe we should look at ditching Mississippi State and picking up someone like Clemson? Probably bring in more $$$$.
