Forget about the former pro's, with the financial maneuvering by LSU to fund Kelly's buyout and also fund Lane along with immense player payroll resources...I would say yes the fans need to go to the mattresses for Lane, NOW. IMO this is about winning NOW, not "let's see what Lane can do". Lane has explicitly clear, extremely high expectations that most paddy cake programs can't relate to. Whether folks on tRant care to admit it, there is opportunity for a new pecking order in the SEC and LSU is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure they are at the top, but not only are they willing, they HAVE to given their current financial arrangements. IMO, Lane is under extreme pressure, it sounds to me like LSU, fans, donors, and the big $ behind the scenes folks are all in alignment, will be interesting to see how this plays out both in terms of W's and L's but also how Lane himself handles the extreme pressure.
OU is a freaking juggernaut in softball. Don’t see this changing any time soon. I like the sport just the way it is. Great sport to watch live/in person if you get a chance at any of the SEC schools.

I'm still here...like the rest of you, just can't put it down. Too invested to 100% walk away as there's always a sliver of hope! But man, it's HARD AF being a Mizzou fan.
Miami survived 58000 stupid mistakes...so maybe Ole Miss is the smarter team, but they were most definitely the better team.

Our FB coach publicly stunts for NIL $$ to keep players...all fine and dandy...can't win a big game or show measurable progress as an offense, but sure, I'll take the public plea.
Then, our hoops team gets smoked by KU, but not to be outdone, gets completely dismantled by IL. Literally complete domination.
But at least we have...........................oh wait, we don't win anywhere else either. We are the suckers here.
We, as fans, are being disrespected at this point. This program has the hand out at every turn...there is next to nothing to show for all of the support, sell out streaks, on and on. Just an embarassment. We used to at least be viewed as a "sleeping tiger". Now...a joke.

You could say there are 2-3 teams in the SEC not in the playoff that could beat half the current playoff teams as well (at a minimum TX and Vandy, maybe even LSU and Mizzou). ND would get crushed in the SEC.
