Laughing. Alabama will have the same record as UGA. They will have beaten them on an alleged neutral field in the State of Georgia.

With a win, they will be the SEC Champions. Georgia will not.

Same record. Head to head win. Conference champs.

Georgia is out.. No way you can justify any different. They could both sit, but Georgia is out.

There are plenty of other scenarios. It all depends on what the other teams do. This isn't rocket surgery.

What if Michigan, Washington, FSU and Texas all win. Where will Georgia be ranked then? Michigan, Washington and FSU would all be undefeated conference champs. No way 1-loss non-champion UGA is ranked above any of them.

Then you would have 1-loss conference champ Texas, which would be ranked above 1-loss conference champ Alabama based on H2H, and then UGA behind them (again, based on H2H).

UGA would come in at No. 6 in that one particular scenario.

Personally, I don't think that's what's going to happen, but it is one of the many possibilities.

Pac12 champion is getting in 16383926392%. Guys this isn’t complicated. Oregon or WA is guaranteed a spot. Michigan is guaranteed a spot. Only 2 left for grabs. Need Florida state to lose or that is a 100% lock for them getting in. 1 spot left ! Whose it gonna be

well that's not necessarily a slam dunk considering bama could win and not go

Or Bama could win and BOTH GO.

Texas and FSU would both have to lose, but it's possible.

1. Michigan
2. Alabama (1-loss SEC Champ)
3. Pac-12 champ
4. 1-loss UGA/Ohio St./FSU/Washington

FWIW Finebaum had already stated if UGA loses they are still in.
This is important not because it’s Finebaum but because it’s ESPN and may reveal a talking point(their agenda) should this happen. I’m old enough to have seen them guide the selection more times than I care to count. Not saying it WILL happen if the scenario happens. Just saying it could.

If UGA loses and gets in, how can Washington lose and be left out? Hell Washington would actually be 1-1 against the team that beat them

Bama-UGA is a de facto round of 8 playoff game...The winner advances to the final 4. It's as simple as that

And the teams that jumped them had a strength of schedule that is a joke

I’ll hang up and listen
Oregon is the only team in the top 8 with a strength of schedule ranked behind Georgia? LINK

We lose we are out. Thats how it should be if there are no better alternatives that are undefeated or won their conference. You won't here us whining to jump a team we lost to head to head.

Now make your argument about jumping Texas.

It's not happening. Bama will take out the SEC this year.

Half the country is rooting for Alabama because they think the Tide is more vulnerable, and the other half because they think a Bama win keeps the SEC out of the Playoff entirely.

I think you can flip a coin on whether a Bama win gets 2 SEC teams in or keeps both out.

I find it really hard to believe that Alabama would eliminate both teams (thus the entire SEC) from earning a berth.

This essentially feels like a quarterfinal game just like UW/Oregon will be and OSU/Mich was

You're wrong.

If Georgia loses and the other contenders win they will not get in. I can 100% guarantee you that will be the case.

If Bama beats UGA, UGA won't get into the playoff over Bama so UGA would need at least two other teams to lose.
