They screwed TCU out of a spot a few years ago. Should have lost several more games this year.

Yes because it's all about money and they bring the most.

Ehh, If they had lost the games they shoulda lost they wouldn't be given the benefit of the doubt. If Auburn had won the games they shoulda won, they would be in the playoff mix. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

This system is the same as the old system. It's the same beauty contest.....there is just fewer judges now.

Probably.

I am okay with the choices, but there should be a conversation if the two games leading to the championship are blowouts.

That's arguable. They lost to the Big 10 Champ and didn't even win their Division.

Yes, unless it's between OSU and Notre Dame

Every team has a down game. That doesn't mean they're not the best team in their conference. Penn state cannot defend the run and the only offense they had last night was the Hail Mary.

Translated to.. game results don't count for some teams.

....and yet they still beat Ohio State. That is my point. You can't say with 100% certainty that Ohio state is one of the "best 4 teams in the country" when PSU beat them. The officials helped OSU out against Michigan. They could have very easily lost that game.

PSU lost 2 games, one by 39 points.

Michigan lost 2 games, one to OSU and one to Iowa.

OSU lost 1 game, won @ OU, won @ Wisconsin, beat Michigan, and their one loss was by 3 points @ PSU.

It's simple.

They've earned it. They have a great coach and much like Bama, you can count their losses over the past few years on one hand.

But we can say Penn a state is one of the four best with a 39 point loss to Michigan and a loss to Pitt.

It's why they need to go to an 8 team playoff.

They can let teams that earn it in along with those that "pass the eye test" (translation: the bluebloods).

Yes and no. They got left out last year with 1 loss I believe. No one would have wanted to face them in the playoffs. Michigan State and Oklahoma lost those games before they even stepped foot on the plane. They had Elliot and Bosa last year as well, they could have taken down anyone in the playoffs but they lost the wrong game. Too many players focused on the draft but they had something like 15 players drafted.

Last season:
-1 loss to the eventual Conference Champs.
-not even discussed for the CFP.
