u think Saban would do about the same despite having won multiple national championships at multiple schools since then?

It would take Saban time to recruit players and you can only sign 25 a year. I know Muschamp is working his ads off and Saban is no spring chicken and has lost his hunger to build

What about the Bama coaches that failed in between the Saban and Stallings?

And you don't think Nick Saban coming right now to this program with his Resume would do anything better?

Ya I call bull shite on that.

Leaving Mich State, sure I agree. But right now he most certainly would.

I want Muschamp to succeed but to say you wouldn't want any coach in the nation over him is just blind delusion.

What are things that would make fans dislike WM?

How do you know that?

From everything I've heard the guy is mad about going to national title games because it extends the season and he can't go on recruiting visits.

You can only recruit 25 a year. Grad transfers dont count in that. How many do you think he would get in his first year? 3 or 4 that would make an immediate impact?

That is what the support staff is for (see kirby smart and Pruitt at Bama working their butts off. See former HCs and coordinators taking analysis positions).

You underestimate what he can do to a staff and roster.

In this common era of College football, it's pretty bad if you don't.
Spurrier got away with it for a bit but eventually it caught him.

Coaches that don't work their arse off don't last long.
At the end of the day it comes down to talent.
You can say whatever you want about about working hard, but these are big time d1 athletes looking to go to the next level, everyone's working hard, it's talent that puts the kids over the hump

(and in the coaches aspect, finding talent, evaluating it and getting it to come to your school)

I honestly wouldn't trade him for any other coach in the country right now.

I'm sorry but I just don't think Saban walks on water.

Hernandez wasn't "killing" anyone in Gainesville. Janoris couldn't stop smoking pot. There was only 1 DUI that I can think of and he got suspended for the SECCG.

Whatever I don't know the exacts.
But it is true a lot of those guys were kicked off when Muschamp came in right?
(I know Hernandez was gone)

Regardless. You guys never had any NCAA violations. So it's really a non issue.
And you came out of it with 2 rings.

It's not like it got that much better under Muschamp (15 arrests in his first 3 seasons, on pace to tie Urban's 30 in 6). People stopped paying attention because we sucked.
Another thing is people counted citations as arrests during the Urban years (oh the horror, underage drinking in college).
And there must be something in the water down here because UF/FSU/UM have always had problems with players and have ranked near the bottom in penalties per game for a couple of decades now.

Riley Cooper got busted for DUI too, if I remember right. Don't remember if he was suspended or not. It was hard to keep track back then, and Urban usually wouldn't announce ahead of time, guys would just be in street clothes at kickoff.

A guy that would rather have Muschamp over Saban is a guy that loses all credibility from this point forward at least to me. He hasn't slowed down and is working even harder at recruiting right now because he lost his entire staff over the last three years. As far as taking time, he signed the #1 rated class in his first full year in 08 and won it all in 09. Prior to 08 our talent pool was average like yours is now. He would do significantly better than Boom even as an old man. He still out works his competition.
