If the player decided to retaliate and knock Kirby to the ground, they both would have been tossed out of the game (as well as however many participated in the brawl that followed).

Kirby absolutely should have been flagged.
But he wasn't going after Van Buren. He was going to yell at the other UGA coach (who his eyes are on) and Van Buren tried to step past him as he was doing so. Kirby shoved him off (likely thinking he was the "get back man") and we got what we saw.
It was unintentional, but it still happened. He should get a fine from this. While I wouldn't be upset if he got suspended a game, that might be a bit overkill for what it was.

Your coach acted like a classless violent a-hole towards an opposing player. That’s not cool.
The MSU coach has an obligation to make sure that he gets his player’s back and brings light to this.

I agree with this
He was caught up in the game. Doesn’t mean it was right and thankfully we have a classy QB who did the right thing. He should definitely be fined and issue an apology but it’s not like he tried to choke him or threw him down by the facemask.
We definitely rustled his jimmies yesterday that’s for sure lol.
