absolute dogshit football program who deserves every second of this for knowingly hiring a documented pedophile.

Spare us all your sanctimonious bs. You’re a fool if you believe there isn’t recruiting nonsense going on at all big programs.
So, with all your brilliant insight, who should we have hired?

They need to sell more souls to satan the way Gus did.
The magic died off.

he could definitely accomplish 5 and 6 loss seasons on the regular.
He only had one season with 6 losses. He was good at going 8-5. He did it three times. This is what Auburn fans refer to now as “the good old days”.

Why is AU's football future so important to you? Could it be that your self-esteem depends of what a 19 year old in a red jersey does with a football? Your extensive knowledge of Auburn football while impressive is contrasted with me (and most reasonable people with a job) as I do not know nor care about uat's football success or failure. Selah

they are smack dab in between Alabama and UGA. They are dwarfed
Has our location somehow changed? We've won 9 nattys in that position so I don't think that's the problem.
Hugh, for as bad of a football coach as he is, has shown we can still recruit at a borderline elite level which is what separates the teams with potential from those without. So it really just comes down to can we find the right coach. Eventually it'll happen but who knows when.

i personally would have hired someone besides a washed disgraced pedophile cheater.
sad that even after seeing how it's played out you still can't see how your school debased themselves for this fraud. permanent reputational damage.

Hopefully not. I'd miss all of the whining and gnashing of teeth.

I must have been asleep when they were relevant. Sorry. You’ll have to let me know what I missed.

Ever?
Pretty long horizon.
IF beating Alabama and Georgia each year is the definition of success, there are not many IF any teams that have done that the last decade.
Post the records of every conference team versus Alabama and Georgia from the last ten years.
How many teams have winning records against those two?

I love it when young whippersnappers who only discovered college football in the past 5 years start threads like this. Learn your SEC history, boy.
Go look at Alabama between Stallings and Saban, or even under Bear Bryant in the late 60s into the early 70/ when there was talk of firing him.
Here is a little history. In the last 100 seasons, Auburn had a winning season 65% of the time. Alabama, despite Ears Whitworth, Mike Dubose and Mike Shula, had a winning season 90% of the time. Seven of Alabama’s ten losing seasons over the last one hundred years came under those three.
By comparison, every Auburn coach except Gus had at least one losing season. Shug Jordan, who Auburn named their stadium after, had more losing seasons (3) than Bear Bryant, Ray Perkins, Bill Curry, Gene Stallings, Dennis Francione, Nick Saban and Kalen Deboer combined (1).

Cool, here's some more history. From 1951-2020 we had 7 coaches. 5 of them won national championships and a sixth was :13 seconds away from doing so. 2 coaches in 70 years that failed to win a natty at Auburn. Alabama had 2 in the 80s alone, another in the 90s and 2 more in the 00s, 3 if you count "It's Rollin Baby".
