Quality of losses is my only guess. Ole Miss losing at home to Kentucky is as bad as it gets.

The argument against that is I don’t understand why your loss to us is considered “quality”. We beat the dog shite out of you at home. Why should us losing to Kentucky matter in that case?

No way on God green earth we deserve to go to the playoffs, but if we somehow weasel our way in, I’ll take it

Because we beat the dog shite out of UK who embarrassed you? What of it? Why fans are surprised that teams that win late in the season over teams that are stumbling across the finish line is wild. It literally happens every year.

Ole Miss lost by 3 to Kentucky
Ole Miss lost by 3 in OT to LSU in Death Valley
Ole Miss lost by 7 to Florida in the Swamp
SCAR lost 27-3 to Ole Miss in Columbia

Because if you added together the margin of loss for all of our losses and spotted SCar with those points in our game, you’d still lose. It’s like saying Clemson should be ranked over UGA. The logic isn’t there when there’s a head to head matchup.

USC’s quarterback was injured during the LSU and Alabama games. The committee takes injuries into consideration (see FSU last year). They can posit that with Sellers, they are a better team and could have won those games

Didn’t Bama get in the BCS title game over a more deserving OSU in 2011 because of quality losses argument?
It amazes me how Bama fans will keep changing what is most important when it suits their team.

Bama I actually understand. Close game and Bama blown out by a 6-5 team. Ole Miss dominated them at home and hasn’t lost by more than 7 all year. If 3 passes bounce differently, ole Miss is undefeated. And none of our wins have been close. Not sure any other team can say that.

Floridas' losses
#3 Texas (playoff team)
#6 Georgia (playoff team)
#7 Tenn(playoff team)
#8 Miami(playoff team)
#20 A&M(playoff team if they get into the SECCG and win)
sooooooooo you're saying there is a chance???

Usce lost to bama and ole miss. The counter point would be bama and miss were told go win two games against teams that don’t have a winning record and you’re in the playoffs. Both failed. Bama failed in epic fashion

while true, The officiating beat SC against LSU. bama has far worse losses.

I mean, I'm not bitching - it is what it is, sports are weird like that. But yes, I think we were robbed and I think 2020 election was stolen?

Kentucky literally has a single SEC win. And you lost to them at home. Ole Miss beat us at home yes, but both Sellers and Sanders were barely able to play that game. Both were injured. I'm not saying SC is better, but losses against Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss are better than losses against Kentucky, Florida, and LSU. Let's just be honest.

That's fair, I couldn't argue Ole Miss getting in over us. However, the timing of the losses is what we potentially get us in.
FWIW, playoff predictor has you guys much lower, not really sure why other than it's better to lose on October 5 than 11/23?

Because South Carolina only has 2 legitimate losses so unfair to compare them to Bama and Ole Miss who have 3 legitimate losses.

I think by the time you pick up a 3rd loss you are really splitting hairs.
If SCar wins @Clemson on Saturday and some more chaos happens in the ACC or Vandy beats Tenner then I think SCar would have a legitimate point having beaten one of the ACCs top teams.
It's a shame the LSU & @Bama games had to end the way they did because a 2 loss SCar team would be in no questions asked.
