Miami losses to two 8-4 teams by an average of 4.5 pts.
Bama 3 losses including one to a 7 loss FSU by an average 12.33 pts with two of them averaging 17.5 pts losses.

9 game conference schedule is about money.
With unbalanced schedules, you have to have the championship game to actually pick a conference champion.
Otherwise a mediocre team can luck into a garbage schedule and win the championship without proving anything. (See A&M’s schedule this year, which almost proved this scenario). :lol:

SMU lost by 3. They were not completely dominated by Clemson in the ACC title game.
Both losses for SMU last year before the playoffs were by a combined 6 points.

Again, if Bama had two good losses, they wouldn’t have an issue. The fact remains they have one of, if not the, worst losses this season.
Double digit loss to a team that finished 5-7 with an FCS win to get them to 5 wins.
Of they lose to a 7-5 team instead? Sure, they deserve in with the loss. If they lost the FSU game on a fluke? Maybe. They got dominated by that garbage team.

Bama is a team that should have lost to Auburn and USCe. They looked awful against a downspiraling LSU team with 5 losses. Barely survive a Mizzou team that ended up not that good.
It’s not some great team.
If they lose by 14+ today, they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Especially with th blowout loss to to freaking FSU.

He was a really good DL coach. He didn’t get promoted to DC at Syracuse because of purely his recruiting.
He is one of the best in the business at DL. People forget how good the defense for A&M were under Fisher. Their offense was just a disaster.

No. I am going on record that they have no business over the others right behind them if they lose this game. The committee will likely keep them in since they get favored treatment. I can’t control illogical and inconsistent decision making by a committee that cares more about making money than fairness.

They were tied for 1st in the SEC standings and only got into the title game based on tiebreakers.
There is no outright championship for the regular season.
