Because they are the tallest midget in a shitty arse Big 12 conference.

Tech will get exposed in the playoffs. Funny how it took Oklahoma and Texas leaving for them to win the conference.

BYUs schedule is/was arse.

The only good team they played was literally Tech and they beat the shite out of them twice.

That whole conference is a fuking joke.

The problem I have with it all is the fact that going against weak competition all year is waaaaaaaaaayyyy different physically and mentally on players, than going against a good conference schedule.
So basically you are afforded the ability to be healthy and prepared for the post season.

Notre Dame had 4 ranked teams on their schedule.

They lost two of them. Pretty simple.

Oklahoma went 5-1 in ranked games.

Tech is a better team. Does that help?

Why? Because they’ve beaten up on a bunch of terrible teams?

After TCUs performance a few years ago the Little 12 should never have a team in the playoffs again. It’s basically the same level of competition as the American.

Texas Tech is gonna win the championship this year. All SEC teams are all overrated except UGA I guess.

I think another reason is they’ve blown out every team they beat. No close calls at home like Ole Miss had with Arkansas, Washington State, or Florida.

I think the primary reason is TTU has 4 ranked CFP wins (BYU twice, Utah, Houston) and all of them were very dominant wins

Ole Miss has 2 ranked wins (OU, Tulane)

Ole Miss has the better loss, but TTU also thrashed its schedule when Ole Miss had some close calls to not so good teams (like Wash State)

Yes. In the pre playoff era this was a much bigger thing. If a team can win three or four games in a playoff, I think that narrative gets cast aside a bit
