Arky will be really good but they have a really tough schedule. Could be 8-4 or 9-3 just because their schedule is so tough.

10-2 team during a normal year.

Probably because it’s a given that if a QB leads your team in rushing he can’t go 2 years without a significant injury. And without Jefferson they are not very good.

They went 8-4.

Beat 8&4feit and didn't bail on the bowl game but had the balls to play even knowing their 1st round WR pick was opting out.

Love the cane fan hanging around on an sec board feeling his oats bc he thinks they’re about to be relevant.

It will take multiple 8+ win seasons before we can prove last year wasn't a fluke.

I think Pittman can do it, but it'll be tough to win 8 games in the SEC West every year... just ask A&M.

Bottom line is that last year was the perfect storm.

They had 15 super seniors transfer in and a new coach and scheme.

Those 15 super seniors are gone and people are better prepared for them.

I’ll give them credit: Pittman is an awesome guy and they played motivated. But last year was lightening in a bottle.

This year the Hogs will fall back down to earth.

Maybe... but we also got several highly rated transfers from Alabama, OU, LSU just to name a few. We should be fine.

If their QB can play defense that would really help.

There’s a reality in which Arkansas goes 10-2 this year and plays in a NY6 bowl. There’s also a reality where they go 7-5 and play in the Texas Bowl.

In any case, Arkansas will not be an easy out for anyone this year, which frankly is shockingly good considering Pittman is only beginning year 3 after inheriting the worst mess in the SEC this side of Vandy. Pittman has done an amazing job.

I'm just going to copy/paste your answer because it's the best one I read.

We could be really good or just average, but Pittman has turned it around with the quickness.

because bobby got beat up by a swim coach, we hired fat bert the drunk, and then hired chad the imposter and over the last few years, weve lost to north texas, toledo, san jose st, missouri, western kentucky, toledo, and of course the rest of the SEC without any kind of fight. We have been a national joke, an SEC whipping boy that was scared to play Arkansas State or UCA. winning 3 SEC games in year 1 under pittman was a super bowl type season.

People look at Arkansas as though CHadwick was still the coach, and rightfully so. We havent proved anything ....yet

People seem to discount the defensive transfers we got, three of which started for SEC teams last year. Plus Jalen Catalon is healthy after missing most of the season last year and is a potential all-American.

Sure we lost a lot of experience on D but guys like Grant Morgan were former walk-ons and he's replaced by Drew Sanders who is about as talented as you can get.

So Dominique Johnson, A.J Green and Rocket Sanders don't get credit? It wasn't just Jefferson.

Everybody in the west should be concerned about everybody else in the west. It's a brutal division every year, but this year has the potential to be even moreso.

Alabama is obviously the best, but they better buckle their chin straps tight. The consensus bottom 2 teams in the west are MSU and Auburn, and either one of them could easily win 9 games.

Bama - Loaded

Arkansas - 9 wins last year, brings back a ton of talent and experience.

A&M - Stockpiled top 5 to 10 talent for multiple years. Can they finally put it all together?

LSU - loaded with talent, a new coach. An unknown, but undoubtedly talented.

Ole Miss - Very good last year, Lane Kiffin is a really good coach, addressed key needs via the portal.

MSU - 7-5 last year, honestly a couple of fluke plays from 9-3. Bring back tons of experience, including having a 3rd year starter. Mike Leach historically wins 9+ games in seasons with a 3rd year starting QB.

Auburn - Still talented. Started strong last year, faded during some troubles under a new coaching staff. Really anyone's guess this year, but still a very talented roster.

So - there's really no reason to be "scared" of anyone outside of Alabama. But there are at least 5 teams who are good enough to finish 2nd in the West. I don't think Bama escapes this division unscathed, as good as they are. But, conversely, I don't think you'll see a lot of gaudy records come out of the West. It's gonna be a rough year.
