Will do. Just as I bookmarked numerous Hog fans saying Arkansas was a superior job and Kiffin was locked down.

Makes zero sense

No, he would leave to go to a program that has won national titles with 3 straight coaches, two of them being mediocre ones and the other saban. Only miami back in their day has accomplished that like LSU has. LSU has a much higher ceiling than ole miss has and he can win national titles here and he knows it. Ole miss is nowhere close to the program LSU is and never will be. Ole miss couldnt win a bidding war against LSU either. Thats why. With that being said, lane wouldnt be who i would want LSU to hire if/when we are looking for another coach.

Why would any self respecting program want this guy? He is a scandal waiting to happen where ever he is.

Assuming Geoff Collins doesn't turn things around, I'd like to see him at Georgia Tech. It would be ideal for him. He would still be in a good recruiting part of the country and not have to face the brutal SEC West schedule. He would probably be in the ACC Championship game most years.

Y’all said the same thing about Saban. OM is perfect for Lane for a few years anyway. He could legit win the West this year, and if he does, watch out.

Expectations are relatively low at OM, so he has a chance to perfect his head coaching there.

If he hits a hard ceiling at OM then I could see him leaving it that’s at least 4-6 years down the road.

LSU is loaded with talent but an administrative nightmare. Who’s having a better time? Lane or O? If Lane goes 6-6 at OM, they just look toward next year. If O goes 6-6 he’s looking for a job.

He want leave for just any job. Also, the money would have to be right.

Will, Ole Miss pony up 8-9mil a year to keep him?

Sorry bud but ole Miss isn’t a destination job for anyone. If someone really wants him, they’ll take him and there’s nothing ole Miss can do about it. Money talks and y’all don’t have big boy money. Sorry.

I think that’s a yes. Remember when we all thought it was batshite crazy that Bama ponied up 4? It doesn’t make any damn sense but it makes damn sense to do it if you have to because the return is huge if you win big. Bama proved that to the college football world with Saban. Also Ole Miss has the money with an aging wealthy alumni that remember and long for the Vaught and Archie days? Can Kiff win big? If so we will pay up.

What has he done to negotiate 8-9 per year? He’s at 4.5 right now.

We’re talking the hypothetical that if he wins big we will keep him.

He has all the power in negotiating. He has rehabbed his image, shown he can put an interesting product on the field. He’s marketable.
