I am not claiming them either...those selections tell you something about those seasons though. Whether they won the "approved" selectors or not.
That is why saying uga hasn't won a title since 1980 is different than pretending Auburn hasn't had a title team since 1957 or now 2010.
1913, 1957, 1983, 1993, 2010 are Auburn's years. Auburn was also selected in 2004, but the BCS agreement invalidates the selections, just like the CFP agreement would invalidate any UCF claim this season.
If I were king of Auburn for a day I'd claim 1913 and 1983 along with 1957 and 2010.

Not really. Again. It is a different thing to say we had a great year, and we won a title. Some Auburn posters are not saying we had a great year. they are saying "You haven't won a title since 1980." Ok. Fair enough. That is true. but it is also true that Auburn has only won one in the last 60 years, just like Georgia. Apples to apples.
All of that said...it is dumb for anybody from either school to claim "clear" superiority over the other. Black and white facts just don't support it.
It's a great rivalry and typically gives us great games every year. That should be enough for anybody.
I've never understood why people think they have to hate their rivals, either. Seems dumb to me.

They are just trolling. Funny thing is...one fan base(Arkansas in this case) makes a troll thread about two different fan bases(LSU and Auburn), and the other two fan bases(LSU and Auburn) end up squabbling among themselves instead of attacking the original troll(Arkansas).
LSU and Auburn fans are innocent in this thread until they attack the other school.

I agree. But the point of using 1980 as a pseudo troll is that is reflects the inability of uga to play at a level worthy of national champions since 1980. I have said in this and other threads that I believe the pieces are in place for uga to change that, but until it does the facts lead us to that conclusion.
Same as saying uga has had more championship caliber seasons in its history by 1.
