It really doesn’t make sense. It’s college football. You should play your rival. Even UForfiet plays FSU every year

We’re not scared, we’re just booked until 2029.

What new, compelling, and original thread.

As much as I hate to agree with an LSU fan - I do. It is a stain on both programs that they are too childish to schedule what-would-be the most important regular season game in the state of Texas every year.

I think the "wealthiest" school could get out of some ooc games very easily.

I think most of them would like to see the rivalry come back. Also, I dont think most are scared of Texas these days. Just look at Maryland

"You're really not getting it. It's about money, dip shite. Texas won't play us without a home and home. That means that the year we play them, we'll lose a home game. That would be fine if they fit into the place in our OOC schedule reserved for a major P5 opponent, but they don't. We'd have to drop one of the major P5 opponents already on out schedule in order to play them, or lose a home game. We're not willing to do either. So they can frick off, and so can you"

Just going to keep posting Hugh's take every time this thread is rehashed.

I guess we'll just have to measure with how many ranked teams each one has beaten.

Texas - 1
A&M - 0

I too would love to see the game. But looking at it clinically, how would aTm benefit from a home & away with Texas?

More money?nope
More TV exposure?nope
Boost in SOS to help Bowl rankings? nope

I have no good reason for not wanting to play them, at least not one that someone outside the issue would understand.

I hate that place. I have a degree from there, but I hate it.

DeLoss Dodds went scorched earth when we left, and the bad blood he brought out on both sides was game changing. I don’t think anyone who isn’t pretty heavily invested in either place can ever understand how bitter that divorce was.

They keep refusing to play us

Hard to play someone who tells their conference commissioner that they will not play us in a bowl

Scared.

A&M has an open date the year Texas AD Del Conte called about. Regardless, if you wanted any part of a Texas you could’ve easily made it happen even if you were booked.

It’s the aggy way, delusional claims of greatness and chest bumping.. the minute reality hits you piss down your leg.

So we schedule three dogshit OOCs because it allows us to fleece the fans into coming to CStat for an extra game and accomplishes all of the above.

Old School...i'm actually one of the few who like your posts. When you aren't trolling lol

Tell me - what benefit does it provide A&M? To me it's nominal...we have a good slate of games being in the SECW. It definitely benefits Texas more considering their slate of games.

I actually thought I'd miss the game more than I do.

I’m with A&M here.

Eff Texas

The SEC does it right and that’s why we have the best and most competitive conference.

Texas thinks they are bigger and better than everyone else.
They don’t need anyone else.

They are getting what they wished for.

I don’t.
Don’t flatter yourself.

Hope we never play the horns again.
And I don’t give a lick what reason anyone attaches to our rationale for not doing so.
Doesn’t bother me a bit if some internet dork thinks I’m “scared.”

Let em fester in their own sludge of a crappy schedule.
Never having to deal with their fans again was one of the best things about leaving the B12; yet they don’t stay away.

Inevitably some fool on this website posts this thread each week for no reason other than to gin up some attention.
I can’t imagine caring about the schedule of another team, but such is tSECr.

exactly

but you don't have to give up a home game every other year just to give more money to Austin
