You said that but why does it have to be about the bottom line? It's their rival.

Money, nostalgia, prime time, competition, entertainment, interest, bragging rights.. the game provides that in spades. It would be a marquee matchup every year if not the biggest game of the week.

Few programs have that at their disposal & that’s hard to pass up.

As it relates to A&M, I’d point out the benefits y’all have received by joining the SEC. By simply moving to the SEC & without any measurable on the field success much different than you had in the B12, the A&M brand has grown significantly.

This matchup would only add to that. I’ve been on the “who cares” bus as well since 2011, but I can’t deny that adding this matchup has big upside and few if any deterants.

Why is this place obsessed with this?

I don’t think most people really care one way or another.

But for some reason, not unlike BBQ threads, this topic elicits tons of responses—probably bc some see it as an opportunity to pile onto Texas A&M.
Knowing that, inevitably some attention-seeking poster throws the topic against the wall, knowing he’ll grab his share of responses.

Ags (myself included) just need to stop responding to it.

It is really Deloss Dodds, Texas AD who caused all of this as he poked Texas AM in the chest and said do it Texas's way via the Longhorn network. So AM did what anyone would and bolted to the SEC.
The Aggie band parading down Congress avenue every other year for the Texas home games was one of the coolest collegiate events ever. The band opened with Pattons theme with the sounds echoing off the builds on Congress Avenue gave one goose bumps if one had red corpuscles. Texas caused all of this and they got what they wished for.

Never play them until that guy admits he forced all BDF teams to not schedule us and he is sorry for what he did.

Didn't Texas drop TexAM from the schedule when AM bolted to the SEC? Texas thinks that they are the center of the college football universe, but in reality that are a minor player.

Texas's problem is the big money boosters run the program, and they think they know what is best. They got their feelings hurt because TexAm would not bend to their will, and so here we are.

If LSU isn’t willing to play SW Louisiana tech home and home, why should we be willing to do the same for some dumpster fire in the B12?
