(Famine is the black horse in Revelation and we’re starving for a conference win)

Considering all I have heard on this board is DeBoer sucks and can't recruit, the Alabama program is in rapid decline not to ever be resurrected and the NIL era has relegated the Capstone to second tier status - Alabama.

I was actually thinking the same thing. From all the talk of Alabama's demise, I would pick them.

at A&M at Carolina at Oklahoma at Tennessee at Missouri 5 road games in 2026 - maybe next season - 9 game league slate is pathetic - just play 8 or 10 - home games are Alabama LSU Vanderbilt & Florida -

as my Asian friends, Ho Lee Fuk and Sum Ting Wong, noted- thats nuts!

Missouri is 7-5. Simmons is much better than what they had but their offensive coordinator isn’t on the same playing field they finally have a somewhat hard schedule and lost their defense

I think y'all will win a conference game this year

That's very generous of you. I honestly don't have a clue what to expect, this season, so I'll just go with the default and expect the worse.

However if we do win a conference game, and only one, it's gonna suck having to wait until Thanksgiving weekend to see it happen.

Watch out for Kentucky. Stein was the best offseason coaching hire in the SEC IMHO. They may not have overall talent to break in the upper tier of the conference, but they're going to end up being a contender sooner than later.

Not bad. Might get some nibbles on this one.

Missouri will be solid.

Especially if Hardy is healthy

Austin Simmons is an upgrade, Cayden Lee is good. The backup RB is also good.

I think they will be 8-4/9-3 and knock teams off

Missouri will have a good running back even if Hardy doesn't play. The biggest issue I see is that Drinkowitz QBs have consistently learned to play it so safe that they don't spread the field, hold onto the ball too long and make it very predictable for defenses resulting in long 3rd downs Until Missouri stops that, they'll do well outside of conference but then start losing in October.

Keeping with the spirit of the thread, depending on how we define "darkhorse", I'd pick A&M at this point.

The rant would crash.

Seriously, I think Florida is a Dark Horse to make it to the SECCG, but with that schedule, they will have earned it.

Always Tennessee - with Knowles at DC, the D should be much improved - and everybody knows how dangerous Heup's O is if everything gels

Wait, Jim Knowles joined Tennessee? Damn. It takes 2-3 years for Knowles’ defense to find their rhythms but yeah with Heupel’s offense and Knowles’ defense, they’re going to be very dangerous.

The one position we struck gold with was Oline coach def. So while young, they will be taught well. Will make mistakes obviously, but we landed a very good Oline coach. And we all know he will put everything he has into it playing here formally. So I think we see progress on Oline.

SEC is gonna be a dog fight with 9 games. Every week any team that sleepwalks is beatable.

The difference between a 10-2 team and a 8-4 team wont be that wide of a gap

I think Auburn could be better than expected.

Retaining Durkin was huge and should make this regime change go smoother than the typical HC switch.

They'll be solid defensively. If they can find a groove offensively they'll be a tough out.

Idk how good auburn will be next year but golesh was a hell of an offensive coordinator for us

We (Auburn) have always been a tough out but have a horrible record in one score games going back several years now. That has to change!
