LSU has had a lot of misses (Mannings, Marshall Faulk, Ed Reed, Reggie Wayne, Warrick Dunn), but I’m not sure if they were “passed on.”

Maybe Terry Bradshaw?

I had read where Saban passed on vice young because he wanted him at wr.

I could be wrong.

Butch Jones said that Trevor Lawrence didn't fit his system...of course, he lost his job going into the 2018 season and Tennessee landed JT Shrout. But did UT really need a QB? I mean...Jones did sign Will McBride the year before (the only QB in his 2017 class) and Jarrett Guarantano in his 2015 class...

Lawrence grew up a UT fan and wanted to be the next Peyton Manning. Turns out...he was an OK college QB after all.

The story is that he initially thought he signed with UT when he signed to play for UT Chattanooga.

UTrans could have had Johnny. He grew up wanting to be a donghorn. They wanted him to play safety I think. He wanted to play QB.

Wasn't Bradshaw's issues academic or test score related? I don't think it was so much LSU didn't want him as it was he couldn't qualify for LSU.

I’d argue that’s the same. Jamar Chase was going to Florida because LSU was offering him as a DB. That would have been a HUGE miss as well.

Right, the dumb part was losing him for any reason but he would have been a nightmare on defense too

If I remember we didn't recruit DeAngelo Williams very hard, effectively let him go to Memphis.

It didn't really bit us because had Cedric Cobbs, Fred Tally, Dearius Howard on the roster at the time, and would add Hillis, Jones, Dmac over the next couple of years. Always thought it would've been cool to see Williams as a hog though.
