Either Jay Paterno or Al Golden will be JoePa's hand picked successor.

wrong as usual. He has mellowed with age and a failed NFL experience. I am not saying he wont leave but trust me we arent nearly asd worried as the LSu fan base was simply because he got the NFL bug out of his system and he has already made Alabam a success. There is no reason to leave.

saban stated in his books that his dream job is Penn State. he will be there. He is from WV and that will be like him going home. nothing against bama, but Saban doesn't exactly stay at a location for long.

A guy at my gym played for Penn State after WWII when Paterno was an asst. coach. He watched the Bama game and said, "Damn...they ran some plays we used 65 years ago."

Who in the hell knows when he is gonna retire? He will probably coach until the day he dies, literally. He could be coach for five or more years.

I've always thought Bud Foster would be a good replacement. He is a defensive mastermind and obviously is very loyal. I think he could do a good job at Penn State.

Gumps pucker every time a high profile NFL or College coaching job opens up. I remember it so well.

That subject is never discussed on the Bama boards. Wishfull thinking IMO

Coach Bryant did. They begged him to come to USC and he wouldn't take it, of wourse he played for Alabama and that makes a big difference.

John Wayne wanted him to come out there and coach and act.

Saban could be a viable candidate, who knows? I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he was, or if he took the job. He's a coach, mobility is the name of the profession.

There are no more Paternos.

Joe Pa Jr. or Al Golden, probably Golden

I honestly think Joe Pa will die on the sidelines during a game
Saban has stated in the past that Penn St is one of his ideal jobs.

Sabans big thing is building a program. Once he has built it, he gets a bit bored.

Wheteher the Ala fans like it or not, this has been his past MO and certainly could happen in the future as well.
I would tend to agree with you if Saban wasn't pushing 60 yrs old. I can't see PSU losing one old fart for another though.

If i were a bama fan the only jobs that would make me nervous would be a NFL job, Texas, or Florida

but I doubt he leaves for another college job - it's a pain in the arse to uproot yourself and go through the venom... for not much of an upgrade

The next head coach at Penn State will be Tom Bradley, and he will likely be taking over in 2012.

Bradley should be the coach for about 5-7 years depending on the amount of success he has. Then PSU is likely to conduct a more national search.
