The pressure is on Kiffin. He has the most expensive team in football next year. LSU gave him their bank account. To go 8-4 should not be acceptable by anyone with the millions spent.
LOL we ain't firing CLK if Year 1 isn't "great" whatever that means, we are in it for the long haul
Y'all got in the coaching search too late to make a run at the top candidates because you dragged your feet on the Kiffin thing and rushed Pete to the podium like LSU did Coach O in 2016, didn't even make a run at DeBoer.
The pressure's on Petty Pete, he's coaching for an extension, this is his trial run, not like he's one of the high-demand head coach candidates now.

I think Ole Miss could surprise some people this year defensively.

I think we're stacked at safety.
Pickett kinda worried me after the Houston game. I think PJ Woodland is gonna be the real start this season.

Brother you have no idea what is coming. You're going to run a whole season on two DBs with the fastest offense in the country? Them boys will sometimes get 20 seconds to sit down before Leavitt goes three and out. For Kiffins offense to succeed, you have to be able to rotate at every position throughout the game.

So OU has finally climbed to the point at which they have an elite (or close to it) defense.
Not too many years ago, that was their weakness.

say top 6 or 7 and then this a big drop off.
Is Auburn that good on defense this season? We have a chance to be pretty good on defense. In the top half of the SEC at least.

He'll be 55 this August so it's getting close to him making one last shot at a HC gig if he's so inclined.
I don’t know that he (Muschamp) would be even if he has enough success at Texas to warrant attention from programs looking for a HC.
Some people are just better assistants, and I think Muschamp may be content just running the D for the rest of his career. There are worse fates for a failed HC in the SEC than DC at Texas.

Baker sucks. LSU’s defense will be trash

Not normally a homer, but GA has a lot of depth on the front 7. Our only issue is untested depth on the back. We will have two All-SEC players back there and if they don't get hurt we could be the best.

The pressure is on Kiffin
Kiffin is under pressure. The people that just paid $100 million for this team have expectations. Your AD himself, Kiffin’s boss, said the expectation is to make the playoffs.

Yes, your defense will be mid, just like the rest of the team. Enjoy the Gasparilla Bowl
Is it more likely our defense is mid or someone on your team commits vehicular homicide? I bet every single team in the sec aside from uga would bet against you. And thats fricking pathetic.

Why should LSU's defense be ranked that high? There might be a good reason, but I don't knopw what it is.
From conference only stats, last year:
1 Oklahoma 318.3
2 Missouri 321.4
3 Texas A&M 323.6
4 Alabama 327.2
5 Georgia 335.0
6 Auburn 343.9
7 Ole Miss 371.9
8 South Carolina 374.4
9 Kentucky 374.5
10 LSU 383.1
11 Texas 398.0
12 Vanderbilt 400.4
13 Florida 411.8
14 Tennessee 427.4
15 Arkansas 431.5
16 Mississippi State 476.0

That gets skewed by who you play.
When looking at an advanced metric like FEI, which adjusts for opponent, LSU's defense was very good last year, top 15 in the country.
SEC Only:
5. Oklahoma
9. Texas A&M
10. Texas
11. Georgia
13. LSU
13. Alabama
15. Auburn

We are being slept on based on last season. We went out and bought an entire new defense Indiana style and hired the best DC in the country basically and are loaded with young talent as well.
