Who is out here giving NIL deals that once you look at the fine print either pay little, pat nothing or only pay if you're a starter? He says the stories will come out soon.

His big thing was just give it time. The lunacy of NIL as it is currently being done will somewhat fix itself. Due to fine print, some big money recruits won’t get what they think they were guaranteed and/orboosters will get tired of potentially shelling out for a kid that doesn’t contribute.

NIL will eventually become something like this. Right now it's a free for all, but legit NIL sponsors, and even shady dealers are going to want to see something for their money.

You'll probably also see a change in the structure of the collectives. Some of them are taking as much as 20% in commissions.

We'll have to wait and see, but common sense makes me believe a few of 8&4feits super class will transfer.

I think addison at USC was the big story about not being happy with his NIL deal at USC though.

But if we're looking at the current recruiting rankings then A&M is clearly the one school that seems far away from the class they just turned in. There's a few guys in the top 30 that look like they'll end up at A&M but it doesn't look like the rest of their class will fill out anywhere close to the most recent one.

I think the main comments were in reference to usc. He said it was a school that was sloppy with how they had nil set up. Idk if Aggie would fit that description

The only reason he mentioned USC is because Jordan Addison went public with his grievance.

Looking at the current USC class there doesn't seem to be any recruiting effect based on what Addison claims and Pate said recruits were already passing the word along.

A&M currently has 5 commits, which is way below the other big SEC schools.

Now you could say A&M is waiting to beat put NIL offers at the end, or a lot of their biggest commits are still uncommitted, or even that their latest class is scaring away the 2023 guys.

But then you have the Cromartie outburst on Twitter.

It could be multiple schools. If it IS A&M it's not because of lack of money, it's more likely due to coaches making stupid promises and not getting in line with the people funding it.

Since the players are now getting paid and basically employees, they should expect that if they don't produce they can get fired as well.

Watching the video, I’d guess Clemson. Those are the team highlights playing as he talks about it. Subliminal message?

he specifically mentions that he told his producers not to play any specific "b-roll" footage, aka the "highlights", because he didn't want to be seen as calling out any specific teams.

honestly how the hell would it get to this? If I'm a recruit and I only want to go where the money is, I'm asking every interested school how much they're paying .

"oh, we'll give you $3 million!"

my very first question is, damn I'm getting $3M to sign with you guys? Their response is either going to be "yep!" in which case they have blatantly lied, or "well not exactly that's how much you could make, ther'es some qualifiers but we'll get to that later" at which point I want to knwo very specifically how I'm getting paid and how much.

Either players are dumb and have asked literally zero quesitons in regards to how all this works, or schools are flat out and straight up lying.

Per your request around "money troubles" for last class. My theory:

I can certainly see where it would be a huge problem. For instance:

I give player Walter Nolan 1/4th of the $750K they supposedly paid him as a yearly "salary". That $187K is then loaded onto a thumb drive, and is essentially 3 bitcoin when BC was trading above $60K. (This ain't NIL after all.)

The value of said bitcoin then crashes down to $20K, making the value of the thumb drive worth $60K.

Nolan hasn't cashed it in yet, so now he says "Hey, what the frick? I need 6 more bitcoins." The aggy then says "It was worth $187K when we gave it to you, you should have cashed it then."

Nolan says "This is bullshite, you aren't giving me what you promised." And meanwhile, the aggy is out of bitcoins because he did the same thing with 10 other recruits and is still trying to stand firm on what it was worth when it was handed to him.

Except now, all 10 recruits are pissed and they have no other way to compensate them because they didn't think that far ahead and they tied their recruiting class to the most volatile investment vehicle on the planet. Their only option is to give them ALL of the bitcoin they had set aside for their college tenure (assuming they did so), but that leaves them bankrupt for any other players this cycle, and also leaves them unable to pay these same kids next year.

So now.. all players visiting aggy expect this kind of treatment. None of them are getting it because they can't even afford to pay what they promised to the last class. The last class, in turn, tells the recruits that things aren't working out as promised. Said recruits go elsewhere.

I mean they’re all 17-21 years old depending on high school or transfer.

So yeah, a lot of them are probably not bright enough to competently negotiate hundred-thousand or even million dollar deals. And a lot of these “agents” or other people in these kids lives trying to “help” them with this, aren’t actually so helpful. They’re usually either woefully unqualified to effectively represent and protect the players best interests, or they’re out for themselves and will pressure to player to sign the deal with the biggest top dollar figure to increase the size of their cut.

It's Addison/USC & the '22 Class/TAMU.

Bait & switch commitments made v the actual contract terms. The majority of his "info" is related to A&M.. specifically the locker room tension, talk among recruits, transfers & neg recruiting.

Loose lips sink ships.
