Does this list put more weight on bigger titles? If not it is crap.
yes. it puts the most weight behind women's softball

Most SEC teams don't play volleyball, maybe Tejas.

It is early yet.
I'd rather have beach volleyball, down by the river.

LSU had the best year in sports. We hired Lane Kiffin and Will Wade. No one give af about the actual games.

Two of your three "failures" were a CWS appearance and a S16 in MBB
The methodology is there in black and white. You're arguing that Texas (barely) missing the CFP should outweigh the other 5 sports under consideration, all of which resulted in excellent finishes for Texas.

Now imagine comparing that to people that actually won hardware of some kind
How can you be the best across 3 sports in all of america when you weren't even the best in your own conference, in ANY of them?

Ok, let's compare.
Indiana won football and otherwise did frickall.
Michigan won men's basketball and otherwise did frickall.
UCLA won women's basketball and made the WCWS and a baseball regional.
Oklahoma won baseball, lost in first round of CFP, and made the softball Supers.
Texas won softball, made baseball CWS, men's basketball Sweet 16, women's basketball final four, final 8 in volleyball.
Yeah, it's hard to see why Texas is at the top of this list.

Indiana, they won the only sport that matters. Every team on your list would rather win the CFP than all the other sports combined.

Ok, let's compare.
Looking at your list I'd say your biggest rival did a hell of a lot more.
Won baseball natty > going 1-2 in omaha
Made the CFB playoffs > finishing 5th in conference and not sniffing the playoffs
Sweet 16 > missing the tourney
Anyone in their right mind would take the top results over the bottom one every day and twice on sunday.

softball, womens' basketball, volleyballl
these sports aren't even being discussed
Who did better at quiz bowl and tiddly winks while we're at it?

the article is literally discussing them. If you don't like the methodology, feel free to complain to CBS.
But I agree, Oklahoma had a better year in men's sports due to the baseball win.

Nah. Texas beat Oklahoma and finished higher. Maybe if they hadn't choked away a 17 point lead to a team that got crushed by Indiana a week later.

Texas has a lot of sports that OU doesn't have have like swimming, diving, rowing, basket weaving, and tiddly winks.
Proceeds to name only 1 ncaa sport Oklahoma doesn't participate in. Swimming and diving is a singular sport, and y'all have rowing

Aggregate scoring across all sports is fine and all, sure, makes Texas look good. HOORAY!!!
But Indiana won the National Championship in football… INDIANA…
All things considered, they had the best year in sports. The magnitude of that championship outweighed any other school’s aggregated accomplishments.
