I have no dog in the fight so I guess I am truly objective.... Why would he leave where he is? He's doing very well right where he is. Is there some magical benefit to coaching Florida that I am not aware of?
Fans still haven't caught up to the new world of the portal and the NIL. Ole Miss went all in on both of these fronts and people are still living in the world of HS recruiting.
The magical benefits of coaching Florida is none of what Kiffin's personality enjoys. He likes that he can be very public yet also very private in Oxford. He's a superstar that can go to the grocery store and not get mauled by jort wearing idiots.

Hey look guys, we found the moron still living 20 years behind.
Dude Florida is a train wreck of a job. Their collective sucks. You have boosters out of control. You don’t have a President and your AD has not made a good hire ever. You are going to maybe get your 5th pick off the coaching list if you are lucky.

You underestimate the overall stench surrounding the Florida program right now. There would have to be major guarantees for Kiffin that they have figured out how to manage NIL because Florida is not batting at a very good average right now. Having one of the first high profile NIL frick ups doesn’t help Florida’s case.

I agree with you. That would be a move that would make sense but going to Florida just doesn't

Ole Miss. Even with the last 2 seasons, he’s still overrated.
If he wins 10+ at OM three seasons in a row, he will have answered all questions about his coaching chops.
If people want to make a case that he isn't a fit for UF, such that replicating the OM success isn't likely, fine. But that's different from whether he can get it done as a coach.

Can't see why any established coach would take the UF job. It's a dumpster-fire, career-killer since Spurrier, with the exception of Myer, and if he hadn't landed Tebow, that might have gone the wrong way too.
An up-and-comer might be able to make it work, especially with NIL and the portal. Kind of makes me wonder if there's some booster in the background who's gumming up the works, a la Logan Young.

Kiffin is not looking for another job. He has a son, daughter and mother in Oxford who truly like it there. The SEC's history began in 1932. People forget that until Spurrier came in the early '90s', Florida had not won an SEC title, along with Vandy. (Ole Miss had won 6 in the 25-year Vaught tenure.)
This year, one of these four teams will win the SEC: Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss or Tennessee. Kiffin has already made OM a contender in the Playoff Era. Florida is nowhere in sight.
These Kiffin to Florida threads will be no more accurate than the Kiffin to Auburn or Kiffin to Alabama threads of previous years.

Kiffin to Arky would be amazing

You’re right. Ole Miss is light years ahead of Florida in everything football.

They swung. They missed. They hired a nice guy that happens to be an O line coach. Good luck to them. But not really.

Saban is probably ready to jump back in. Ole Piss should give him a call.

That was before the Walmart and Tyson money became a factor and before Kiffin redeemed himself somewhat.
Imagine Kiffin with real money behind him for roster and staff. If he could hold it together he would be a menace.

You are correct. The Ole Miss job is head and shoulders above Florida and a far, far better job. That's not even debatable by anyone intelligent. At all.

He’s not going to Arkansas. For all the reasons he wouldn’t go to Florida, and then add in proximity to the ocean.
Ole Miss has its football operations squared away, a Fortune 500 CEO running its NIL, and an AD that keeps the a-hole donors at bay. There are very few schools that have that. Arkansas and Florida aren’t in that conversation.

In this new landscape, just because you won before doesn’t mean you’ll win now and just because you didn’t win before doesn’t mean you can’t win now. Kiffin may leave, but it’s not as clear cut as you think. Ole miss has their sh!t together better than Florida. He has complete autonomy at Ole Miss. I doubt Florida can do the same. He also has already bolted once and he’s stated he regrets that decision. There’s a better chance he stays than you think from “30 thousand feet”.

I can’t see Kiffin leaving Ole Miss except for one of a handful of blue blood jobs. Florida is not a blue blood. They aren’t even a top 10 job. They may not even be the most attractive job in Florida. Having coached at FAU, Kiffin has a pretty good idea of where Florida falls in the pecking order.

If Florida (or anyone) hires Kiffin then Ole Miss will likely promote Golding to HC.
Kiffin probably only leaving for the NFL though.
