Which SEC Teams Do You Think Makes the Playoffs This Year?
Serious question, why is LSU in the top part?

1. Because they have an entirely new and proven defensive staff, and new transfers and recruits on defense. They should be a lot better there.

2.And on offense, even with losing Daniels and Nabers, they have a scary offense with the entire line and TEs coming back except 1. And they have a potential all-SEC QB in Nuss and a deep set of skill players.

3. Favorable schedule, even WITH USC, UCLA, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, ala. and A&M. 4 of those are at home.

I don't understand how everyone is insistent in giving Ole Miss the benefit of the doubt over LSU. Does everyone forget that they absolutely imploded 2 years ago after a 7 or 8-0 start to finish with 5 losses? Kelly has back to back 10 win seasons and won the division. I do not doubt that Ole Miss will be very good next year, but there is nothing other than recency bias to definitively argue that Lane and Ole Miss are superior to Kelly and LSU at this point in time.

Not a big deal when you play 14 and 13 games. 10 wins was a big deal back in the 80's and 90's. Not anymore. Your defense is absolutely awful and its going to take more than one year to fix and you play some very high profile offenses next year. Good luck.

I think it's still an accomplishment. Also, at least we have a defense! At this rate you won't have any player left you stupid Gump!

Ole Miss finished literally just finished top 10

Why is this year the end of everything? Do you think there is zero dollars left in the Collective for NIL? Do you not think if OM keeps winning that more and better players will want to go there?

Bama is going to be mediocre and has to go to LSU

Oklahoma has to go to LSU

LSU gets a bye before Ole Miss, and Ole Miss has to go to LSU after playing 2 straight SEC games (one on the road)

UCLA goes to LSU

Napier might be fired before we go to the swamp.

@ Arkansas in rebuild year
@ TAMU in rebuild year

Just assembled the greatest defensive staff in CFB. Our new DC made Mizzou's defense jump 60 spots in one year. Texas fans and media credit their former DL coach, now our DL coach, as one of the biggest parts of their turnaround.

QB Nuss has a cannon and is a 4th year player (no true freshman or redshirt freshman here). He has the best OL in the country with 3 receivers that had at least 500 receiving yards last year, and a veteran TE. Paired with 2 elite talented RBs and the best blocking RB in the country.

I just look at the bowl game against Wisconsin and see that the players that performed in that game well are all coming back beside Brian Thomas. The offense was just as effective as last year from the second quarter on. The defense will be better without a doubt. That in itself is enough to have a great shot at a 12 team playoff

We get all our tough games at home. Have y’all seen our record at home recently?

Is last year considered 'recently'?

40-13?

Mizzou made the jump mostly due to the transfer portal on defense.

I think that Ole Miss is going to surprise some people next year, it pains me to say that because I really don't like those douche bags. So, I say Ole Miss, Texas, UGA are in. Maybe LSU, and OU. LSU, at this point, still doesn't have the players on the DL and will have to fill in the holes in the secondary, coaching can only do so much.

If Sankey can clean up the SEC officiating bias, it will come down to which teams end up with 2 or less losses.

I'm predicting that the SEC will qualify four teams.

Georgia 11-1
Tennessee 10-2
Oklahoma 10-2
Texas 10-2

Alabama 9-3
LSU 9-3
Ole Miss 9-3
Missouri 8-4

Kentucky 7-5
Etc...

This is based on TN beating NC State and Ole Miss losing to Georgia, Oklahoma and LSU.

Bama still has tons of talent and DeBoer is a good coach.

I don't know if he'll be able to recruit to the level Saban did, so over time Bama's talent edge over teams like LSU might disappear. But this season, Bama will still have a big talent edge over every SEC team aside from UGA.

Switch Bama and LSU.

Best shot of making it based on returning talent and SOS…

1. Texas
2. Georgia
3. LSU
——-
4. Ole Miss
5. Tennessee
6. Alabama
7. Missouri
8. Auburn
9. Oklahoma

OU has way too difficult of a schedule to make the playoff IMO.

I think 3 teams have a near slam dunk chance.

Ole Miss has the incoming talent but will it all gel?

After that, UT has a fairly easy schedule and gets Bama at home. Bama gets Mizzou at home. Mizzou gets Auburn at home. Auburn gets Oklahoma at home…. So I put them in that order.

Dude, no. Nothing against how great the 2023 offense was, but 2019 was insane. That team could have scored way more in the 2nd half of many games, but coasted with backups. Hell, they could have scored 80 against OU if they wanted to.
