According an article over at Statesman.com, the SEC has five schools that are in the top 10 for licensed merchandise sales.

Here is the top 10:

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Kentucky
4. Florida
5. Michigan
6. Louisiana State
7. North Carolina
8. Georgia
9. Notre Dame
10. Oklahoma

I know this is on a national level, but all you need to do is follow the $$$$$.

There might not be anything more annoying than starting a conversation with someone about college football because they portray themselves as a die hard fan only to find out about 30 seconds in they're just a t-shirt fan and have no idea what they're talking about.

Talking to a student who thinks their degree puts them ahead of a dropout athlete, when discussing college athletics, is actually more annoying. Both situations suck though.

HAHA nope. You're still wrong.

The teams are SEC. The following is in the SE.

This is true, but more so because Louisianans are too broke to vacation anywhere but Gulf Shores.

(Of course, so am I )

They think their degree puts them above anything and everything related to the team. It’s annoying as hell. If we’re talking about your college, mechanical engineering for example, then you have every right to tell us we’re right or wrong. When it comes to athletics that’s open to everyone.

This is the truth. Gulf Shores/Orange Beach is LSU and Alabama Country.

If you head over towards Destin and 30A, I typically see more Auburn and Georgia.

Memphis campus a few days ago and Ole Miss stickers outnumbered Memphis by a three to one margin.

While I do agree that Ole Miss is big in Memphis, I highly doubt this is true. Most G5 colleges try their best to brainwash their students into not supporting a nearby P5 team because it makes them feel inferior. I know most students probably don’t give a shite but 3 to 1 ratio of ole miss stickers to Memphis is hard to believe.

Subtle shot at the poor segment of the bama and LSU fan bases.

Where do the poor Auburn and Uga fans vacation?

2. Wisconsin- $72,881,727
3. Kentucky- $72,699,939
4. Michigan- $72,426,033
5. Alabama- $68,798,600
6. Ohio State- $67,221,825
7. Tennessee- $64,172,670
8. Auburn- $64,172,670
9. Florida- $63,925,413
10. LSU- $62,210,369
11. Georgia- $61,580,759
12. Arkansas- $60,511,806

DeSoto County, MS does enjoy a larger Ole Miss following, but in the Shelby County (Memphis) suburbs of Collerville and Germantown, there are more Mississippi State fans than any other. Ole Miss is close, but decidedly second. Maybe in Memphis proper, like midtown (doctors and lawyers), or Overton Square (where the fruits and nuts live), there are more Ole Miss fans.

When the University of Memphis basketball team is playing well, most of them morph into Memphis fans during basketball season.

There seem to be a lot of Bama fans in Boston. For the life of me I can't figure out why...

If Texas is #1 then why do I never see people wearing Horns apparel or horns anything. They are almost nonexistent in Louisiana.

Nice scientific way of proving a point.
If you go there in the winter, you would have to say the largest following in the southeast was Michigan or Wisconsin with your way of determining.

Georgia just off of volume. Gumps are only about 60% in their own state. West Tenn hate UT. LSU is probably second.
