Mississippi -- 2.23

Kinda wild considering the amount of Baptists and the fact Mississippi still has some dry counties.

What's the difference between a Baptist and a Catholic?

A Catholic will wave to you in the liquor aisle.

Probably the one thing the north has on the south is ability to drink beer. Bunch of fat disgusting cheesehead slobs in WI drinking Miller High Life for breakfast.

I lived in Louisiana for a while and spent considerable time in other Southern States, and without a doubt it's the Coonass nation.

LSU legitimately caused fears of a booze shortage before their trip to Syracuse

LSU is easily the wettest fanbase

My first thought was Florida. Something about the beach will inspire you to drink

When I moved to Arkansas 10 years ago Benton County was still dry. That is a major county with Bentonville and Rogers. Helped vote to end that shite. I bet more counties are still dry.

Apparently they are a bunch of teetotalers in Arkansas. They don't even sell booze on Sunday?

Depends on the city. Fayetteville stores don't, but Springdale stores do on Sunday. The towns share a border.

It is weird.

Bars sell 7 days a week.

There's a point in a grown man's life where drinking most days is a problem.

I have Louisiana relatives who are barely social unless they're three-sheets to the wind. who dat wit da cirrhosis....

We produce an insane amount of meth. I believe with that kind of work ethic and extra meth motivation Missouri can win a National drinking contest…we may steal everything laying around but we got this on lock.

I would have been surprised if Arkansas wasn’t last in this. You can find a good time but it’s not a particularly alcohol friendly state. It’s not just the laws either. I’ve been caught off guard many times at how drunk you can be in some states and still be considered socially acceptable in “polite society”. The Rust Belt is particularly wild in this regard.

Is this a trick question? Any answer other than Louisiana is wrong. In fact we would win if you only counted drinks south of Alexandria.

Sounds about right. Outside of football, what do Alabaman's have to live for?

That's because most of them are ignorant, uneducated, miserable in life and weak willed.

I should know because I'm from there, grew up there and graduated from LSU. (But had the good sense to get the hell out)

You have the self-loathing part down pat though.

Seems like you didn't get out soon enough.

Florida being #1 doesn't feel right to me. I agree with the tourists driving it up. In high school I worked at a tourist trap restaurant and bar across from the beach. Canadians come down during the winter and get fall down drunk every night. They stay for 4-5 months and it's the same faces every day getting loaded at noon and drinking till 2am. It's like they're killing the clock on life.

On our own I'd bet we're about average.

How are we doing the contest? Our champion against yours? Or everyone in the state gets a drink.

Because if we're at 1.8 when half the state is dry, then the other half puttin' yall under the table.
