I’d say that’s a legit question. No doubt Georgia is very very good.

I would go with vandy

Vandy won against lower level SEC teams. The east is not so great. When they did play UGA they lost the series. They lost to A&M also. Their schedule was weak regardless of what RPI says etc. They are good no doubt but they did not play an Sec schedule that makes me a big beliver. They did beat Auburn from the west but that is it.

Tennessee is overrated so taking 2 of 3 to me means nothing. Again, not saying they are not good but when you get to play a very iffy conference schedule then naturally you gonna look like world beaters.

Heard this same stuff last year and then MSU swept them at their house in a super regional.

Vandy beat Arkansas 2 out of 3 at Vandy this year. But that first game was 3-2 so that's the difference between Arkansas winning that series.

And again I’m not saying Vandy is not a good team, I just don’t think they are where Arkansas is top to bottom and I promise you this, haf that series been at Baum we’d be talking a different language.

I haven't watched Georgia play this year, but I thought they were very good last year. Having said that, when you look at their record and stats, I just think they're on a level below the other 3. It wouldn't shock me to be proven wrong, however.

When I mentioned their record, I meant who they have played and beaten, and not just their won/loss total.

We swept Georgia but it was in our house. We plated 19 runs in game 1.

Georgia doesn’t hit near as well as State/Arkansas/Vandy

^This. I went to the State vs UGA series and Georgia couldn’t hit any. Like at all. Good deep pitching, but the hitting was bad.

Lack of hitting.

Give me Vanderbilt. They’re playing as consistent as anyone, my dark horse is Miss St as long as they never need to play in the losers bracket.

We were also without our two All Americans in that series. FWIW

We don’t necessarily have the power of the other 3 teams but we’ve hit well enough to be sitting at 39 wins with 18 in conference while surviving losing our starting LF for the season and missing our CF, 3B, and 1B for stretches.

If this squad is healthy we can be really dangerous with our pitching and defense and a pretty well spread out offense

The main trouble with Arkansas is that if we have to go deep in our pitching rotation we will probably be in all sorts of trouble.

I would say Vandy has the best shot, followed closely by Arkansas and with State right on our heels. That having been said I could easily see Ole Miss. Georgia, or (if they get some arms healthy) LSU making a deep run.

My main concern, because I wouldn't put it past them, is that they put all of the top SEC teams on one side of the tournament while UCLA strolls into the CWS. I'm probably paranoid, I grant you that, but I've watched SEC teams get shipped all over the country for the NCAA basketball tourney. Is it still paranoia if they really are out to get you?

You guys can spin well. Vanderbilt has the #2 SOS and the #1 RPI. They’ve won 18 of the last 20. They have the best average hitter in the league and the best power hitter. Pitching is deep as always. They certainly have the most talent.

Because the bats are waaaay behind those other 3.

BUT, if Georgia could get to Omaha they would be dangerous in that ballpark. Georgia's pitching a defense would play very well out there

our hitting isn't even close to what some of those other teams have. Our pitching (when fully healthy) is elite and our defense is superb, but you still gotta score runs.

Until we see each teams pathway, there is no way to really answer.

yall did, and are obvioulsy very very good, but that was a ragtag UGA team yall faced. Our ace Hancock didn't play at all that weekend, our normal Saturday starter did pitch but was hurting and I THINK that was the last game he palyed before being benched (and still hasn't been back since), and our best hitter/best closer Shunk only played 1 game.

Granted, those thigns might not have made that much of a difference and we very well may still have gotten swept, but I don't think MSU is AS far ahead of UGA as that series would indicate.

Going with Vandy on this one, just have the most complete team between pitching, hitting AND fielding (seems a lot people forget about that aspect).

Arkansas has equal hitting to Vandy, I'd say Vandy might go a little deeper pitching wise, but Vandy really stands out fielding wise vs. Arkansas. Same thing Arkansas struggled with last season (And cost them a title). I look at a poor fielding SS (but can hit) and a not so great fielding OF (corner guys) either as potential weaknesses. They obviously went for hitting/power over fielding when building the team.

I think Vandy, the Hogs, and Mississippi State are the best in the SEC. Any of those could win it all with the correct bounce of the ball, a hit at the right time, or with a pop fly foul not hit in a weird location.
