Most heartbreaking was 100% Georgia, for football at least, although Arkansas in the CWS was pretty bad. Most depressing was 100% LSU.

2016 SUCKED. To take a lead and then not be able to stop them from driving the length of the field. Seconds away from winning. But, life went on. The sun came up the next day. I was pissed for about a day then got over it.

I'd say Georgia last year was probably more heartbreaking than any of the others. Led the whole game and lost on the last play in OT. I can't, nor do I want to, imagine how that feels.

2016 Obviously hurts the worst.

Alabama would have a 3 peat and be working on 4 in a row.

For OU, 2005 BCS national championship at the Orange Bowl. For anyone watching on t.v., nothing could get worse than this at halftime:

2013 FSU was the most devastating loss I’ve ever experienced. I was at the Rose Bowl and on FSU’s final drive I think I had the same amount of adrenaline pumping through me as a soldier in combat. Could literally feel ever artery/blood vessel pumping like a water hose.

I couldn’t talk with my family normally for about a full day after the game. It was depressing.

Yeah, it’s definitely not 2016 Bama Was stunned for about 15 seconds and then totally fine. This run has been so ridiculous it has a way of inoculating you. I’m just 100% complacent and satisfied- Saban wouldn’t want me anywhere near his program. Each extra title is like a little bonus in which I take great joy in, and I really enjoy how mad and jealous everyone else gets, but the failures just don’t bother me anymore.

By halftime I knew our game with Bama was over for whatever that’s worth

You say that, but our defense was balling out. Bama was completely dominant, LSU had something like 3 yds of offense... but it was still a 2 score game. We had big-play guys at PR and WR, it would only have taken just 1 big play to break a score and ignite the crowd.

Arky's gaffe in the CWS might have been the most brutal, but luckily for them, it was "just" baseball.

Out of all the ones you listed it’s easily ours.

All those other schools had won National Titles within 5 years of their heartbreaking loss.

Ours wasn’t as bad as it could have been because the future does look bright, but I think it’s the obvious choice.

Arkansas? Or are you just ignoring that one because, well, it's football season and real men only talk football during football season?

Arkansas was def the worst because 3 guys misplayed a national championship clinching flyball, which led to OSU tying the game then eventually winning the game. Arkansas was defeated at that moment you could see it and what made things WORSE, now they had to comeback and play another game the next night that they had 0 chance to win

I would agree with you, but for once Bert Ball helped me out.

After 5 years of Bert I had become accustomed to misery and numb to sports failure. So there is a positive to having your soul destroyed!

While true, at least you lost to an SEC team to keep the streak alive.

Then the plainswomen ruin the streak and give it to the ACC.

As always, frick Auburn

It’s 2017 Georgia.

37 year dry spell. Outplayed Bama for most of the game and could see the NC celebration coming.

Oh, and the incredible game with OU just to get there.

One play. Nope!
